I admire her work.

"Nora Ephron, the Oscar-nominated filmmaker and director behind such hits as "When Harry Met Sally" and "Sleepless in Seattle," is very ill, a representative for her publisher said Tuesday.
Nicholas Latimer of Alfred A. Knopf confirmed her condition hours after celebrity columnist and friend Liz Smith published what appeared to be a memorial for the writer. "

Hollywood Legend Nora Ephron Dead At 71

As we reported, Nora was gravely ill up until her death today -- reportedly suffering from cancer. She was 71.

Ephron scored 3 Academy Award nominations in her illustrious Hollywood career ... and was widely considered one of the most powerful women in the entertainment industry.

"Nora Ephron, the writer of iconic movies When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle and You've Got Mail, has died at the age of 71.

The author and screenwriter had fought a six-year battle with leukemia and finally succumbed to the disease.

This afternoon one of her colleagues predicted her death was 'imminent'. Writer Richard Cohen told ABC News that Nora was not expected to make it through the night."

When I first heard this, I thought, "Seventy-one, she was so young". Interesting how much younger certain ages seem the older we got.

I also liked her work, and own at least two of her movies. She really had a talent. She had a great sense of humor.

R.I.P. Nora Ephron

I know without looking that I still have at least 2 of your books on my old shelf downstairs...

(hoping a Mod will fix the thread subject...this woman deserves her name spelled correctly)

I drove her often. I don't think I ever saw any of her films. She was very nice.

I didn't even know that she was ill. Very talented woman.

Same here. She looked great, was lively etc. I recently drove her and her sister (she's famous, too, I think) to some charity function. Alot of celebrities treat their chauffeurs and other staff like carp (the stories I could tell you, LOL), she wasn't one of them.
RIP
