FCA did steal a check from her grandmother's. When she came to their house for Caylee's 2nd birthday FCA stole a check from the back of her checkbook and went I think to Target and bought party stuff for the birthday party.

I have never understood how FCA was able to write all these checks? I have always had to show my driver's license when writing a check at Target...or any store actually. :waitasec:

I've never stole a check and tried to use it at a Target. Maybe the Clerks didn't pay attention to the name on the ID? I know when I was 19 or 20 years old I would show my ID to a clerk to buy beer. Sometimes it would work sometimes it didn't. Nothing ever happened to me though if I was caught.

So did she go to Ohio or not? My local news said shortly after she was released there was some police activity at the airport and a car was escorted to a private jet headed to Ohio. This thread is moving so fast I can't seem to get past the first couple pages so I thoght I'd just ask you all if you knew or discussed this previously.

I don't know about Target, but at Walmart in my area you can give the cashier a blank check. She runs it through the scanner and then gives you the check back, no ID required, no signature required.

My daughter and her child, my beautiful granddaughter, now live with me. I'll be honest, I don't want my daughter here, she makes my life miserable, however my husband and I are dealing with it as best we can for the sake of my granddaughter. The fact is, I can not force my adult daughter to get more therapy, I can't force her to take her meds, I can't force her to get a job, I can't force her to go after the baby daddy for support, and I can't let her out of my sight with the baby.

I'm so sorry you are going through this, but thank you for sharing your story. I've been saying the same thing for a long time, but could not explain it as well as above. We had a similiar situation with my sister and when there is a child involved...well, the fear that they will just pick them up and disappear is palpable. Many times you just don't have a choice except to deal with the adult, for the safety of the child. It is not as easy...or possible really, as many seem to think, to legally get custody of a child from their mother.

That's what I think, even if the cashier asked for ID, she didn't look at the license to see if the name matched the check. I send my daughter to the store with my checks all the time, but then we live in a very small town and things work differently around here.

Thanks. I haven't used a paper check in a store in many years.

Aljazeera is reporting that her plane just landed in Abbottabad, Pakistan. :floorlaugh:

If it is to try and find out the truth about what happened to Caylee she is not going to tell them imo.

Shoot, I bet they wouldn't even bring that up. Seems to me like they didn't even pressure her that much when it had just happened :banghead:

Our police chief was quoted with his opinion of FCA's guilt in the local paper today:

For three years, the case has affected the lives of many locals, including Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood, who was drawn into the Anthony family ordeal.

"I have no doubt in my mind she's the murderer," Chitwood said Friday of the 25-year-old mother who was recently acquitted of charges against her for the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

"But I've been in this business long enough to know that guilty people walk out of courtrooms every day."

Shortly after Caylee's skeletal remains were found in December 2008, her grandfather George Anthony was reported missing, and authorities were concerned for his well-being after he sent text messages to his wife saying he wanted to end his life. Chitwood was among the officers who found a distraught George Anthony in room 106 of the Hawaii Motel on South Ridgewood Avenue.

The chief said he eventually talked Anthony into getting treatment at Halifax Health Medical Center, where he stayed for 11 days before being released.

George Anthony rode with Chitwood to the hospital.

"He didn't bring up anything about the case," Chitwood recalled.

He remembered Anthony telling him, " 'You just don't understand what it's like' and I said, 'I hope to God I never understand,' " Chitwood said.

several stores where I shop do this too, money immediately taken from the account, protects them from bounced checks etc. and I like getting that check right back.

I agree, some total nut case or a much older man will marry FCA!!!
Some men are down right fools and a lot of men think FCA is very attractive with nice "assets." Just a matter of time......and I will just cringe if/when I find out she is expecting another baby......

hugh hefner might ! she can be playboy of the year and his wife too!

This is the crazy thing, she used PHYSICAL checks at stores and got away with it! She used Amy's checks with her own license, and the cashiers never compared the name on the license with the checks! All they did is scan the license to make sure it was real, and scan the checks to make sure the account was valid and open! I couldnt believe it, I have a harder time using my OWN checks and money at stores than this witch did using stolen checks!

Also, if Im not mistaken, she used a physical stolen check of granda/grandpa to buy party stuff for Caylee, AND used the routing number off the checks to pay her cell bill and buy a new phone online. Let's not forget how George said he had a college fund for caylee, which casey emptied out and spent every dime of it.

You are assuming he didn't.

Actually, the doctor referred to how many hours he specifically spent with Casey. Never once mentioned he confirmed this info with anyone else! My guess is he only talked to Casey (paid by the defense) so he could convey what they wanted him to convey.

And she just kept on getting away with stuff like that!

I'm no expert, but apparently the info on the bottom of your paper check is a gold mine to thieves. They get that and they can suck the money right out of your account. Casey figured out how to do it.

I agree with you. The people who are blaming George and Cindy for Casey's actions are guilty of exactly what they're blaming George and Cindy for - not holding Casey responsible and making excuses for her.

Until you're in the same position as Cindy, you can't understand. ((((Chilly Willy)))) Thank you for sharing your story. I know where your heart is....I grew up with a sister diagnosed as bi-polar with a baby....had to go from Ohio to Texas to get him when he was 18 months because she had taken off......had to go call the police numerous times to have her pink slipped....the havoc she has caused to our family and friends is heart breaking....the lies, stealing, fighting and on and on......the courts or children's services weren't any help; finally his dad stood up and took him in. He's a business partner of mine and a great kid; but he fought for everything because he wanted a better life.......Nope, you cannot force your child or anyone to take their meds, get therapy, face reality, or be a good parent.

May God bless you and your grandchild!!! And I pray your daughter will seek the help she so deserves because helping ones self is a sign of loving one's self.....

I am struggling with my responses to what is going on with Casey now. I admit I'm not convinced she was guilty of premeditation but I do think she almost certainly somehow is responsible for Caylee's death. And certainly she did many strange and downright wrong things in the aftermath.

But even so, I am trying very hard not to wish her ill. For my own karma or spiritual health or whatever, I am trying not to perpetuate the negativity the Anthonys put out into the world. We've seen them all lie, hate, accuse, and god only knows what else. And I'm sure some of that is embedded in their functioning and will only continue.

But it would be satisfying on some levels if someone as damaged as Casey could somehow, genuinely, could find her way to redemption. More important, the world does not need more evil or pain. So I don't want to see anyone do anything horrible to her. And I will do my best not to succumb to glee or schadenfraude (sp!?) if she's caught working a stripper pole or ripping off some gullible admirer. If by some miracle she can change, and in some way start contributing something good into the world, how can I oppose that?

Most excellent post - thank you.

Padilla thinks she's in the Los Angeles area with Mark Hawkins, for whatever that's worth.
