I hate to admit this but I have an uncle with a criminal record and addiction issues. He lives on the other side of my grandmom and has been known to cuss and threaten her when she refuses to hand over money he feels entitled to. I have called the cops (and his PO, more than once) every. single. time. because I refuse to watch him treat her that way and he has since put an end to it because he knew I wouldn't stop until he did or he landed back in jail where he couldn't harm her. Is there not ONE person in Mr. H's family that is willing to stand up for him and put an end to this mess? Surely the whole family can't be greedy and without feelings, right?

BBM~~

Great post. As Fontelle said in her recent interview, someone needs to be honest, come forward, and tell what they know. Someone knows what happened to Mr. Harrod.

Actually I never even considered the idea of a cooler.

Yes, someone needs to come forward with what they know. It will be much better for the person or persons with knowledge of the circumstnces surrounding Mr Harrods disappearance and presumed murder to go to the police before the police have enough information to make an arrest or arrests. Once police have the information they need, the door will almost certainly be closed on making a deal for whomever is withholding pertinent information which could solve this crime.

Stop protecting whomever is responsible for Bobs disappearance and presumed murder. Go to the police with what you know. I'm sure it is a difficult decision to make, but consider the consequences you and your family may suffer if police learn you have knowledge and withheld this information. Is it worth risking paying the consequences for someone elses behavior which you learnt after the fact and had no direct involvement? Is it worth your family suffering the consequences for your withholding this information?

Do the right thing for Bob. Do the right thing for your conscience. Bring some closure to those suffering from and greiving over Mr. Harrods disappearance. Bob and those who love him deserve that much.

Information someone could bring to the police might be along the lines of having credible knowledge which proves or contradicts what the last person to see him alive stated.

Some examples of what might be beneficial to police:

If SIL claims to have been at the home at 11am but his local family members or a neighbor saw no vehicles in Bobs driveway during the times of interest (10:00am or later as the timeline is all over the place) the day he disappeared, that may be of assistance to police.

Neighbors having driven by Bobs home that day recalling the (approximate) time and whether there were any vehicle(s) in the drive way and if so, descriptions of the vehicle(s) seen and what times those vehicle(s) were seen at Bobs home.

What items neighbors may have seen being removed from the home, particularly their size.

Any spoken word from Bob about what his plans were and what repairs he may have completed prior to the day of his disappearance. Perhaps some of the repairs SIL JeM claims to have made had already been completed by Bob earlier and were unnecessary the day of his disappearance or were never necessary prior to SIL JeM's Mon visit.

There may be information someone is on the fence with whether or not it is relative or important to the case. If so, make the call. Let the police be the ones to decide what is or is not beneficial to the case. Don't make that decision yourselves, let the professionals - law enforcment be the ones to decide.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about Harrod's disappearance to contact detective Dave Radomski at 714-993-8176, or contact the homicide hotline at 714-993-8166.

PALMDALE, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say human remains have been found in a remote area of the high desert city of Palmdale.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says the partially buried, badly decomposed remains were discovered Tuesday near 130th Street East and Avenue R-4.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff's homicide bureau.

it's about 100 miles or less from Placentia to where these remains were found. 3 1/2 to 4 hour round trip.
praying for the family of whomever this victim may be.

As awful as it is to think about, if these are decomposed and not skeletal remains they are likely not Bob. After two years, Bobs remains would be fully skeletonized. :(

Bumping for Mr Harrod...praying for answers. Praying that you come home.

"POI insinuating that family (actual family) is involved. Jeesh! POI doesn't really know family and only had D's chronic lies to base her opinion on."

Daughter RB is calling her father a "chronic liar" on the WWW. She is not saying the hairdresser is a liar. This is shortly after Mr. Harrod disappeared. Now why would she do that?

Also note that the daughters were calling the hairdresser a POI on the WWW when they knew she had an alibi. PPD never labeled the hairdresser a POI.

"The POI did give him the cell phone, but he did NOT know how to answer it - chuckle."

They above is an excerpt from one of daughter PB's post back in August 2009.

"Chuckle" ( Laugh quietly or inwardly )

PB August 11, 2009:"There was a family meeting on Sunday, it was heated at times, there were NO threats and we all left on good terms."
____________________________________________________

"The day before he disappeared, his daughters -- PB, RB and JM-- went to his home in Placentia. The four argued about money, police say.

According to Fontelle, Bob said his daughters became upset when he told them he planned to include his new wife in the estate. According to court filings, his daughters estimated Bob had property and savings worth at least $1 million."

___________________________________________________

"His daughter, RB, acknowledged the exchange, saying her father lost his temper. She said he had failed to provide copies of their mother's will, which he was obligated to do because of the financial mechanisms set up by the estate.

"It wasn't a heated meeting," she said in a phone interview. "Dad got heated. He's very selfish, very conditional. The day before he went missing in the afternoon, he was going to provide us copies of the will, and we went over to get the copies. He didn't have them."

So we know from court documents that Mr. Harrod was giving financial support to his grandson. Of course none of the daughters ever posted about that fact.

We have never heard anything from the grandson directly in regard to his missing grandfather.

We do know from the police report what GS told PPD about Mr. Harrod's disappearance:

"That it was not like his grandfather to leave without telling anybody where he was going. That there had been fighting in the family recently and Robert was very frustrated over the situation."

Money = frustration = anger = entitlement = violence.

This kind of thing happens more than we know.

Mr Harrod did not vanish. He did not leave. He did not walk away.
He did not die on a long walk around the neighborhood.

Someone was in his home that day.
Someone who felt that Mr Harrod's money was really 'their' money.

Did the hairdresser, known to be a slight woman, manhandle Mr Harrod
and cause his death?
And then, clean up the house, hide Mr Harrod's body, all in the small
amount of time that the son in law was gone?

I do not think so.

Did a neighbor drop by and have some irrational moment and cause
Mr Harrod's death?
I don't think so.

There isn't much choice but to think of family?
And there was a family member in the house that day.

Mr Harrod's family seemingly does follow this case online.
They must know the suspicions that have fallen on the son in law.
Mr Michaels could end all speculation by volunteering for a lie detector test.
He could hire a private company that specialize in these tests.
He could insist on the FBI's best and brightest to conduct a test.

He could, but he has not.

Excellent post Dream'. I'd like to add the heavily guarded secret odd jobs, small handly man jobs.
They must be pretty incriminating or they wouldn't be such a heavily guarded secret.

I sometimes wonder how difficult it was for David Kaczynski to make that call to the authorities and provide them with the information which led him to highly suspect his brother of the crimes committed....

I can only imagine what went through David Kaczynski's mind prior to making the decision to do the right thing. How incredibly difficult it must have been for him to turn in a family member and bring justice to those victimized.

Praying that someone who is considering making that call to LE will find the same courage to do the right thing for Mr. Harrod - bringing this special man, who provided for so many, the justice he deserves.

I agree Cub. It would be simple enough for the daughters or SIL to divulge what those "small projects", "odd jobs", and "home repairs" were. Very telling that they haven't.

David Kaczynski's took months to make the decision to turn his brother in...
He even hired a specialist to see if the language was similar between letters home and the manifesto.

"If I had to boil down our decision to one word, the word I would use is 'responsibility,' " he said. "We certainly weren't responsible for what Ted did. We weren't responsible for the situation we found ourselves in. We hadn't chosen to be in that situation, but we had to respond to it."

Responsible. That's the kernel of what led him to turn his brother in...

Murder is never justified.
It can happen in anger, in passion, in a plan for gain, but
it has to be answered.

As humans, we answer to our conscience, to our higher power, to our loved ones, to
God on our final day.

As humans, we try to justify any wrong we have committed.
We cannot.
