I admit I haven't read all the posts but I wanted to address this one. Yes, I see that she's in pants and a blouse. I don't see her carrying anything, though.

As far as what she was found in, I haven't read what she was wearing yet, just that she was dressed. I'll watch for it though.

Up to this point, although she was found in Joran's room, I haven't seen anything else that points directly at him. Everything being reported is so contradictory. I'm watching though, hoping the truth will come out.

I did read that one article from that guy who had visited Dutchmen in the Peruvian prison. Wow! Some of those had no lawyer and got 25 years.

Hi Fran, I think that all of the video evidence points directly at him. There is video of them leaving the casino together. There is video of her driving him to his hotel. There is video of them entering his hotel room. There is video of him leaving his hotel room a few hours later with his bags--and without her. Also, the following has not been contradicted: When he left the hotel he told the clerk he would be returning. He did not return. Rather, he beat it out of the country. He tried to change his appearance. He ditched his belongings. Seems ALL the uncontradicted evidence points toward him.

The description given by MarMar is right on the money, exact description of his actions with the key, door and lights.

What I didn't see was him give the key to the desk clerk on his way out, nor was it in his hand as he shut the door when he left alone.

He wasn't perfectly normal one day and then not the next. Prior to his killing Natalee he had been seeing a psychiatrist for "anger issues" per his own statements and those of his friends --per his parents they sent him to a shrink for lying to them and stealing his brother's cell phone--sure, right. His conduct after Natalee's disappearance was clearly sociopathic--everyone saw it. In fact, Peter Devries had alot of it on videotape. Alot of good that did.

BBM. It seems I remember reading something about Joran killing a family pet. Does anyone else remember something to this effect?

I have zero, zilch, nada, etc. pity for this excuse of a human being! IMO, whatever treatment he gets, is / will be better than that he gave to others. EVEN IF...and that's a big IF...he didn't murder Stephany or Natalee, the way he treated Natalee's family alone, justifies any treatment he might get.

You can't come to the US and commit crimes...esp. murder...and expect to be treated the way you would in your home country; so any expectation that you could go to Peru (or any other country for that matter), commit a crime and be treated the same way you would if you were in US is unrealistic and unfair. You're a visitor there, just as you would be at someone else's home...kinda like, "my house, my rules"...consequences for following them or not...your choice!

In fact, if someone visited the US (my country), committed a crime against one of "ours"; most US citizens would scream for "American Justice" instead of deportation for justice...this is no different, IMO.

Like the saying goes, what goes up, must come down! Well, JVDS, it's coming down now...and it's just the beginning.

Prayers to the families and friends of Stephany and Natalee.

Here is the video of Joran and Stephany entering the hotel room, then Joran leaving the room alone.

I haven't read anything lately about the DND sign on the door, but according to this CNN article...

http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/06/05/peru.murder.case/index.html?hpt=T2

Ok starting at 1:06 on that video look just to the left of Joran (his left). There is a person there in a white shirt and as he walked passed her you can see her move toward the desk area in the lobby.

Ooooh do you have a link for the casino pictures or video tape?? Thanks in advance.

This link opens with a photo of her {I assume !!! } sitting at the table. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92gFDZlRoBI"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92gFDZlRoBI[/ame]

PS: Well, now I'm not sure if that is her or not. I thought so cause he was smiling down at this girl. I also read at some point she put her hair up in a bun at the back of her neck.

De Rooij says that Anita van der Sloot spoke to her son via telephone Thursday but would not give details about the conversation except to say that Joran "certainly did not" confess to killing 21-year-old Stephany Flores, according to the Dutch News.

We wouldn't have expected anything less from Aruba's golden boy. He kills, then lies.

Well, now Anita will know what it is like to have to fly back and forth to another country, just like Beth had to. Only Anita can do this knowing where her child is and knowing her child is alive. Beth did not have that comfort. She only had grief, heartbreak, and the unknown.

No, Joran would 'certainly' not ever confess to anything. He doesn't have an honorable, moral bone in his body. Not to worry, Anita. You and Paulis trained him well.

He's such a gentleman. :innocent: Wonder why she seems to be meekly following behind him....leaving the hotel "lobby" and going into the room?

I think that might be the wrong link because it started out with Joran in the hostel getting his room key.

Can you explain, BB?
I think his father disposed of Natalie. I can't really explain what I mean about how kids act when protecting someone they love, they just get crazy. Case in point Fl boy kicked in girls head because she said something nasty about boys dead brother.
Once Joran had to protect his father, he said and did things that were bazaar. Lies on top of lies and out of control. I don't know what I mean so I will stop rambling. No attacks, thank you, imo.

When Stephany follows Joran out of the lobby on the way to his room, she's not carrying anything in either hand. No purse, no keys, no wallet, nothing. She has no purse over her shoulder either. Did she leave all of her things in her car? If the motive was robbery as some people have suggested, it doesn't make a lot of sense. She wasn't carrying anything to rob her of. Weird.

I'm pretty sure I recall he used a key in the door when he opened it and flipped on the light switch on the wall. And when he was leaving alone, they showed the light still on and him pulling the door shut and sort of making sure the door was locked by pulling on the knob.

ETA: after reading my response, I'm starting to think I watch wayyy too many reality crime shows that I noticed that detail (lights, knob, etc). Either that, or my ex cop husband has me so trained about paying attention to the smallest details. :sleuth:

Hi, Marmar, thanks for the correction: I trust your more detailed (apparently more professionally trained) description. I only saw grainy stills that somebody sent me. (It also seemed odd to me that the overhead camera would be situated there. In buildings where I've stayed, they have usually been in more public areas.

IIRC, room 309. With the clear, time-stamped surveillance video there is no way someone else could've gone in there. And, even without the video, how coincidental would it have to be that someone did it right after he left? The ME can establish the day she died due to the level of decomposition. And then there are the bloody clothes....MOO

This thread is moving so rapidly, I somehow missed the article on the bloody clothes being found. Any help finding the link is greatly appreciation. TIA!

Every time I see that video of him in the hotel lobby with the shaved head and the big long white shirt/coat I picture Jack Nicholson in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

From this video of last night's Greta, (sorry if this has already been discussed), it appears Joran was in Aruba May 10th, when the sting was set up for the extortion. Aruba and the FBI were working together.

There was $15K wired to the Netherlands and $10K in cash was handed over in Aruba, filmed by the FBI. It was up to Aruba to arrest him as the FBI had no jursidiction. Aruba COULD HAVE arrested him and held him for 30 days while the FBI got their arrest warrant and then Aruba has an extradition agreement with the U.S. for financial crimes.

Aruba just observed him and contacted the FBI when they learned he was leaving.

It's not known if they were trying to get him to slip up so they could pin murder charges on him for Natalee, or what??????

Also, the story he allegedly told in the {sting} was he hit Natalee and she hit her head (sound familiar?) and then his DAD helped him bury her (again, sound familiar?)

This is crazy! :banghead:

Sound Off - Joran van der Sloot

With this link, I see now where he left and then came back. Oh, and they found 'bloody' clothes in his possession. And, it was a TENNIS RACKET that MAY HAVE been used.

FWIW, his dad died playing tennis.......:(

http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/06/05/peru.murder.case/index.html?hpt=T2

He said "they found bloodied clothes with" van der Sloot and that investigators are testing them, as well as the tennis racquet, for DNA.

........................................snip.....................................

When investigators questioned the workers, he told them that van der Sloot told him "don't bother my girl." Van der Sloot indicated that he would be returning to the room, according to the worker.
