#CopsAreAwesome
Just thought I'd start posting some POSITIVE cop stories here for a change.
I have about 39847938749837598739847 million of them, but I won't post them all.
Lord knows they won't be 'fascinating' enough to draw many people to the threads but I wanted to share some anyway.
Broward Sheriff's Office (Official)
Recently, a Parkland resident called #BSO about a suspicious vehicle parked in his driveway. When the homeowner approached the vehicle, the female driver of the car drove away losing control of her vehicle and rolled into the lake.
Thats when Deputy Louis Scholtz arrived on scene. He saw the vehicle partially submerged in the lake and the woman, whom he later found out suffers from Alzheimers disease, was flailing about in an effort to exit through the window of the car.
The sky was pitch black and the car was slowly submerging deeper into the lake, which is inhabited by alligators.
Ignoring his personal safety, Deputy Scholtz removed his gun belt and jumped into the water. He attempted to open the drivers door, but was unable to do so. He reached through the window, and pulled the woman out of the vehicle. With the water level approaching neck high, Deputy Scholtz carried the hysterical and disoriented woman out of danger. Thank you for your great work!
