This is my best friend Andrea... she has been missing a long time I am just submitting this information on the off chance that someone out there might know something ? Please if you live in that area print and hang some new flyers , who knows ? someone may remember something ? or finally be willing to talk now ? some sites list her as a run away but we all knew her well she wouldn't have ran away , she had just talked to her Mom about when she was going to come home and cook dinner, when her Mom got home , the door was wide open, things were scattered, Andrea was gone, but her purse, keys, money, shoes etc... were still in the house... they lived in a less than safe neigborhood also. Thanks for your help ! All these sites are different.

My friend Andrea Durham, has been missing since 1990, 17 years this month
If you know anything , or know anyone who lives there and might know anything, please help, they have always listed her as a run away because of her age, but everyone who knew her, knew that she did not run away, her mother came home to an empty home, with Andrea gone, door unlocked, and all of Andrea's stuff still there, nothing missing, left her shoes, keys, purse, money , cigarettes etc... all left behind, did not take a thing.... that is not the sign of a run away. Please help if you can. Thank You !

Twenty years ago, 13-year-old Andrea Durham disappeared from her family's Ocean City apartment near Fort Walton Beach.

Durham was home alone on the evening of February 1, 1990. When her mother and sister returned home from a meeting, they found Andrea's purse and all her personal belongings inside, but Andrea was gone.

Woman still seeks sister's face in the crowd

For two decades, Ashyea Alford has literally been searching for a face in the crowd. Wherever she went, she would check out other women, hoping one of them might be her missing little sister.

Andrea Durham was only 13-years-old when she was last seen by her sister and mother in an apartment they all shared. She was left home alone to vacuum while her mother and sister attended a meeting on the night of February 1, 1990.

When the two returned home just 2 hours later only the vacuum was left standing upright in the family room. Andrea was no where to be found. Authorities found no physical signs of forced entry or foul play and none of Andrea’s personal items were missing. Durham was initially classified as a runaway, even though she had never ran away from home or even threatened to. The disappearance of Andrea Durham remains a mystery to her family as well as authorities who remain no closer to finding her than they were 20 years ago.

Andrea looks extremely different in each of the photos they are showing on NG; the photo on the milk carton does not look anything like the one where her hair is very blond and long, where she has on a green shirt. I would never have known it was the same girl.

Clearly, she did not run away and she probably has been dead a long time. But someone may know something or suspect something, or even just recall someone acting oddly back then. I am guessing someone from the apartment complex.

I wonder if her family has submitted a DNA sample to cross-check against any remains found over the years.

I watched this case last night on NG. imo, someone(child predator) living in the apartment complex, a nearby neighbor, saw them move in, easily watched them (thru a window) and when she was alone, knocked on the door asking her to quickly come to their apt to assist with something or to look at something. (no coat, door left unlocked, expecting to be right back). I would want to see a list of the tenants in the surrounding apts at that time, especially anyone moving out shortly after her disappearance. Compare that list to our current sex offender registry.

I lived a few blocks from this girl when she went missing. I still wonder about her.

Would some one look at Doe Network case #125UFNV.... This would be a long shot because there would need to be some errors in this report for it to be her, but I can't get over the similarity of the reconstruction photo to Andrea's photos.

Had a look, you're right the similarity is uncanny between this decedent (for whom there is great information - that water isotope thing in particular is a mind blowingly good bit of detective work) but sadly, as you said, there'd have to be an error on almost every vital for this to be her.

There is a lot of military in Ft. Walton Beach - 2 Air Force installations, an Army Ranger training camp and Coast Guard Station in immediate area. The Army and Coast Guard are very small numbers. It's a big tourist area also. However, the tourists don't usually make it to the neighborhood where Andrea lived. I wonder if there are similar cases near other Air Force bases.... I would never want to accuse a member of the AF, however, with no leads in the case, could it be that if abducted, the person was not known by civilian residents of the area? JMO

It's unfortunate that this was an assumed runaway case by LE at the beginning.

It's been over 24 years... I hope resolution can be found before we see 25....

There was a cold case that was solved a few years ago regarding a abduction/murder out of Niceville, which is very close to Ft. Walton, of a teenage girl back in 1988. John R. McMaster-Wade is the perp in that crime. Shortly after the Niceville murder LE got a tip about this guy but for whatever reason wasn't able to pin it on him until over 20 years later. In Aug of 1990 he kidnapped a young girl down in Hillsborough county, was arrested some time later and had been serving life for that crime when he was charged with the Niceville murder in 2010-11. I don't know how long he was in the area in the late 80's or if he was even in the area when Andrea went missing, and don't remember any discussion in news articles or otherwise suggesting he might be responsible for Andreas disappearance but I hope they took a hard look at this guy because of his MO in his crimes both before and after Andrea disappeared.
