Good question.
Theyve been covering much of that same ground around Moscow searching for Rachael Andersen who dissappeared just two years ago.
Authorities feel(and I agree) that Anderson's ex-husband killed her at his shop near Moscow and then dumped the body.
So far searches have turned up nothing.
She has a thread here at Websleuthes as well.

Police departments as a whole seem to have a great deal of faith in the tests, don't they? But as far as I can tell, the science doesn't justify the result. I have no trouble believing that these two men were able to pass.

have they searched that land lately? Hagedorn's daughter is convinced he killed Gayla.
 
Gayla was one of my classmates. When we had our 40th class reunion in 2009, two LE attended one gathering in hopes of jogging anyone's memory about any detail. Almost everyone talked with them about Gayla and another classmate murdered in December of 1969 (unsolved, but body left at site). To my knowledge, no new information was uncovered. Comments about Voss are correct. He remains, I believe, prime suspect in several other murders/disappearances. At the time of our 10th reunion, posters were up all over town about her disappearance. It remains a heart-wrenching mystery as we are approaching our 50th reunion next summer. No one has forgotten this needless tragedy.

Circumstances of Disappearance
Schaper was last seen in Latah, ID on June 29, 1979, when her husband dropped her off at a pasture near the family's Dutch Boy Dairy farm to feed her horses, just east of Moscow on Lenville Road, near the intersection of State Highway 8. She was then going either home, or to her father's home in Woodland Hills, east of Moscow. Some clothing was later discovered in a nearby meadow, but Schaper has never been found.
