86-Year-Old Man Missing in Potomac

Detectives with the Rockville Department of Police are looking for, William Patrick Hanrahan, Jr., an 86-Year-Old Potomac man who was last seen in Washington, D.C.

Hanrahan was with his wife at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda Thursday afternoon when he walked away from the commissary area by himself.

He was spotted several hours later at the Georgia Avenue entrance to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in NW Washington, DC but was seen walking away without going inside.

Police describe Hanrahan as a white man, 5’11’’ tall and about 200 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes.

Hanrahan was wearing an army hat, brown suede jacket, tan slacks, and white tennis shoes yesterday when he went missing.

His family has told police that he is familiar with public transportation and has ridden buses and subway systems before.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen Hanrahan to call 301-279-8000.

He's wearing a CAV hat. He's definately a vet. Bless his heart. I can't find anything updated for him.

Thank You for your e-mail. This incident you refer to occurred outside the jurisdiction of the Rockville City police department. However, we did complete some research on this for you According to the reports filed by the Montgomery County Police Department,. The gentleman walked away from his residence in Potomac Maryland, and was subsequently located in Takoma Park Maryland on April 09, 2010, and safely returned home.
