OH - Steven Ray Winbourne, 26, Columbus, 13 Feb 2010
Columbus Police issued a missing adult alert on Wednesday asking the public’s help in locating a missing 26 year old Columbus man.
Steven Ray Winbourne was seen last Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010 on the city's North Side in the area of Cleveland Avenue and Schrock Road.
Winbourne and his roommates were evicted from a North Side apartment in February. His roommates were the last to see him as they were moving out.
Winbourne had told his roommates that he planned to pick his daughter up the next day, but he never showed up. Winbourne’s family states that he never missed a weekend with his daughter.
It appeared Winbourne was in the process of moving to a new location when he went missing.
Columbus Police said he left his vehicle at the apartment from where he was evicted. Winbourne’s leather jacket was also found. Girl’s makeup was also found on the leather jacket. It remains unclear what happened to his clothes and other personal belongings.
Winbourne was known to frequent a couple of the bars near Karl and Schrock roads area.
Aside from his car and jacket, there has been no information or clues about Winbourne's whereabouts.
Crime Stoppers said that without suspicion of foul play, police view missing adults like runaways and do not actively search for them.
Steven R. Winbourne is described as male white, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 165 pounds, blonde hair, blue eyes, and a goatee. Steve has a small cross tattoo on his left hand between his index finger and thumb. He also has the name of his daughter, "CHLOE ALEXUS", tattooed across his collar bone in a "u" shape. His left ear is pierced with a diamond stud.
Columbus Police has entered Steven Ray Winbourne's profile into NamUS.
Anyone with information on Winbourne's whereabouts was asked to contact CPD's special victims bureau, missing persons unit at 614-645-4624.

Grr. Why did they wait this long to file a missing persons!!
Way too late for any positive outcome, IMHO
Anyway, I find this to be VERY odd. There are a total of TWO Steven R Winbourne's in the state of Ohio. One is THIS Steven, age 26, and the other would have been 45, had he survived. Unfortunately, he was murdered in 2007, and left on the street. He lived 33 minutes from Columbus, in Delaware, Ohio, prior to his death. I believe this is Steven's father, which would explain why the 26 year old Steven is referenced as Steven Ray Winbourne II.
Here's the news article for Steven Sr. http://www.dispatch.com/live/content...3_QI6KOQB.html

ETA: Yes, officially, the man murdered in 2007 is the father of Steve who has been missing for 3 months now. I feel so bad for this family. No one should have to ever go through this...much less do it twice. http://www.snyderfuneralhomes.com/ob....phtml?id=5413

Other Columbus Area Disappearances
During the last five years, two other men have disappeared in the Columbus area. Tony Luzio disappeared in 2005 and Brian Shaffer disappeared in 2006. They have not been found.
Steven Ray Winbourne, Tony Luzio, and Brain Shaffer were white males in their mid 20's when they disappeared. The Luzio case and the Shaffer case have their own WS threads.
Ashley Howley, also of Columbus, was a white female in her early 20's who disappeared from her apartment in 2004. I believe Ashley's body was found in 2008.
Ashley's apartment is one mile away from where Steven Ray Winbourne was last seen almost three months ago.

The media is reporting Steven has been located, however, his mother does not believe the man id'd was her son Steven. I do not have any more details as yet...just the police issued the media the "safe" report, yet his mom has no confirmation.
