Hae Park (Denver Police Department)

Authorities are looking for the body of a man, who they believe to be a homicide victim, in several Colorado locations including in the Colorado River near Glenwood Springs.

On April 5, Denver Police Department homicide detectives began investigating the disappearance of Hae C. Park, 65, along with the Adams County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office had been looking for Park who was last seen by his family on March 27.

As part of the missing person investigation, police found a "probable" crime scene at an office at 10200 E. Girard Ave., police said.

Murder charge filed in case of missing Colo. man

Associated Press
04/17/10 7:10 AM PDT DENVER — A 66-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder of his business partner, missing since March 27.

Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey formally charged Joong Rhee Friday with murdering 64-year-old Hae Park. Rhee is being held in the Denver County jail without bond

Rhee is scheduled to enter a plea in district court Sept. 30 in the disappearance of Hae C. Park, whose family last saw him March 27. Police say they have found evidence indicating Park died at Rhee's office.

Authorities suspect Park's body may have been dumped in the Colorado River east of Glenwood Springs, but they haven't found it yet.

Utah bones may end Denver murder mystery

Park said the bones are those of his father, Hae C. Park, a Denver man who is believed to have been beaten to death by his business partner in Denver last year, and his body dumped along Interstate 70 near Cisco.

“All I think about is him every day,” the soft-spoken Jung Park said. “We’re just glad he’s found.”

Hae C. Park was 64 years old when he went missing in March 2010. Grand County investigator Brent Pace said he is still waiting for results of a DNA test to definitively prove the remains are Park’s, but an anthropologist has said the remains belonged to an Asian man over the age of 50, and a recovered jawbone had unique dental work that matched Park’s.

“The chances of another Korean having that exact dental work in his lower jaw is pretty rare,” Pace said.
