Police seek missing Fairfield woman

FAIRFIELD, CA - Police were searching for a missing and possibly suicidal Fairfield woman last seen Thursday, according to a Fairfield police spokesman.

Debra Rixey was reportedly returning home to Fairfield after visiting a friend Thursday and was last seen at a Nevada County gas station, Fairfield police Sgt. Matt Bloesch said.

Family members said Rixey ,54, may be suicidal and while no specific threats were made before her disappearance, she was considered to be at risk, Bloesch said.

Rixey is described as 5 feet, 2 inches tall, 150 pounds with black hair and green eyes. She was last seen driving a silver 2001 Honda Civic with bald tires and California license plate 4TYP129.

Anyone with information about Rixey's whereabouts was asked to call the Fairfield Police Department at 707-428-7300 or Solano CrimeStoppers at 707-644-STOP.

The Nevada County Sheriff's department believes they've found the body of a missing Fairfield woman.

Debra Rixey, 54, was last seen Thursday in Nevada County.

A state park ranger found Rixey's car in a remote area of Nevada County.

A woman's body was inside the car and deputies believe it is Rixey. An autopsy will be conducted to confirm the identity and cause of death.

The cause of death under investigation but it doesn't appear to be foul play.

The Nevada County Sheriff's Department confirmed Monday that the body of a woman found in a car there was that of missing Fairfield woman Debra Rixey, 54.
