State police seek help in finding missing Bridgeport woman

BRIDGEPORT - State police are seeking public assistance in searching for a 31-year-old city woman who has been stabbed mulitiple times and abducted by her husband.

Police identified her as Sara Decoster and described her as white with a freckled face, 5 foot 6 inches tall, 160 pounds, with brown, curly shoulder-length hair and brown eyes. She was last seen at 10:30 a.m.

Her husband was identified as Eric Stiggle, Jr. He is a 39-year-old black man who is possilbly bi-polar and has a violent history. Police are advising the public to use extreme caution around him.

Police say Stiggle may be driving a white 1999 Toyota RAV 4 sport utility vehicle, with a license plate number of 115-BEE. Decoster is likely in need of medical treatment.

Police said Decoster suffered multiple stab wounds and was apparently placed by Stiggle in a 1999 Toyota Rav 4 SUV, which then sped away. Neighbors near the apartment said Decoster, wrapped in a bloody blanket, was taken out a back door of the apartment and tossed in the car.

Car chase suspect held on $1m bail
A Connecticut man accused of crashing his sport utility vehicle into a Rhode Island State Police cruiser after a high-speed chase has been ordered held on $1 million bail. Eric Stiggle of New London faces charges including felony assault with a dangerous weapon after the chase Thursday. The chase began after State Police received a call about an SUV being driven erratically. At the same time, North Kingstown police noticed a Connecticut police advisory that a possibly armed man involved in a domestic dispute was seen driving an SUV in Rhode Island. Police say Stiggle, 39, wouldn’t pull over. He was arrested after his SUV crashed into a cruiser on Interstate 95 and flipped. No one was seriously hurt and no weapons were found. (AP)
