CANTON, Ga. - Cherokee detectives held a road block Monday morning on Cumming Highway in Free Home and passed out information on a missing 16-year-old girl last seen two weeks ago.
Casey Lynn Gardner was last seen Thursday June 17 at Homer's Gas Station in the Free Home community.
Police describe Gardner as a white female, 5 foot 7 inches, 125 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and a yellow shirt.
Gardner left on foot and has no cell phone. She has friends and family in Murray County, say police.
Detectives spoke with relatives and friends but have been unable to locate Gardner.
Lieutenant Jay Baker of the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office says detectives passed out flyers at the roadblock with the girl's information on it hoping someone will recognize her.
Anyone with any information about Gardner is urged to contact Cherokee County 911.

Cumming man, 31, arrested for hiding teen runaway
A Canton runaway missing for 11 days was staying with a Cumming man nearly twice her age, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office revealed Tuesday.
Deputies tracked Casey Lynn Gardner, 16, to William David Gowdy's Forsyth County residence Monday night following an anonymous tip. Gowdy, 31, was stopped trying to leave the home in his car. Gardner was inside the vehicle, a sheriff's office spokesman said.

Gardner, one of four foster children living in the Canton home, was also arrested for being a runaway and an unruly child and is in custody at the Paulding Youth Detention Center.
