According to Lafayette Police Department Detective Lt. Tom Davidson, members of Howard's church who had begun a search for the woman came across the bone and skin fragments. They informed police this morning.
"We do not know if they're human or animal," he said, noting the Tippecanoe County Coroner's Office would make that determination

There is another picture of her in the link that fhc provided for us. She appears much thinner. I wouldn't know it was the same woman. I'm glad they have both pictures up now. Prayers.

An autopsy could be completed later today to determine whether bone and skin fragments found Saturday morning on Interstate 65 in Lafayette belonged to a human or animal.
Detective Scott Galloway of the Lafayette Police Department said this afternoon that the Tippecanoe County coroner's office was waiting to hear back from a pathologist who will perform the autopsy.

It's not clear whether the remains found are that of Nicole Howard. Both investigations are continuing.
