'Serial Stabber' Targeting Black Men

So far, at least 15 men have been stabbed in Genesee County since mid-May, and five of them have died.
Flint police Lt. T.P. Johnson said the stabbings are the work of one man. "We think he is hunting," said Johnson.
A vague description of the man was given by the surviving victims. They said their attacker is a white male, with a heavy build, between 5 foot 11 and 6 foot 2 -- possibly with light colored hair.
Police believe he is only targeting adult African-American males who are smaller than him and walking the streets alone. In at least two cases, the victims were people with special needs.
It's believed he lures the men in by asking them for directions or help with his car. "The victims are attempting to help this person, and in several cases he's just walked up and started stabbing," Johnson said.
Most of the stabbings have occurred off major roadways where authorities said it is easier to constantly drive back and forth in a stalking fashion.
The latest victim was found in the 2100 block of South Saginaw Street on Monday. Police said Arnold Minor was stabbed multiple times with a sharp object before he died.
Police don't have an exact physical description of the subject to release yet, and they don't have a vehicle description that they want to give out at this time.

This one recaps the pace that this killer is moving at, 13 attacks since May. 12 have been black males, and 5 have now died. When Frank Kellybrew was stabbed on Miller Rd in Flint Twp. just a week ago, they had a large police turnout and even took the helicopter up to scan the woods behind the hotels clustered on Miller Road. This is one of the busiest roads that runs through Flint. Killer struck again on Saginaw Street, also heavily traveled, and a dangerous place to be, depending on the area. It carves right through downtown and the North end of Flint, neither one of them safe places to be at night. There were cameras very close to the scene of the Kellybrew attack and the one on Saginaw Street. This is a very lucky guy. I don't think he's very well organized, but he sure is lucky.
He isn't making any attempt to hide them or cover them up. It's almost like he's proud of himself, wants everyone to see. I bet he's one of those people that has talked about doing something like this for a long time, but no one has ever thought that he would.
Believe me, people are looking over their shoulders, the city is much quieter, but it hasn't really started the racial issues that one would expect. People aren't really being driven apart by this.
I live in Flint, so this one is of special interest to me and I've been following it as closely as I can.

Wow this is extremely close to me, why have I not seen anything about this on the news?!?! I watch it pretty often, and earlier this year, daily. Wonderful Im supposed to be in flint tomorrow night with my son...maybe not now.

I am going to state a fact, not to insinuate anything. Back to the Bricks, a car show held in Flint every year, is at the end of August. These killings started three months before Back to the Bricks and are still ongoing. Considering that the show drew 200,000 - 250,000 people last year, it seems that this might not be racially motivated, but done more to hurt the city. Tourism is still a decent trade around here in the summer.
There are a lot of angry hurting people in Flint, I have commented here to that effect before. The level of anger and frustration among many of the people here has had me waiting for something like this for a long time. I'm sorry that it has gone on this long, and I'm very sorry to the families of the victims.

I have six young adult sons of color. See why I have trouble sleeping? My prayers go out to each of these men and their families. For those of us who literally see no color or who see it and celebrate it, this is unfathomable.
Maybe it's not about color but black men sure don't have a great track record as being victimized due to their color and their proximity to a crazy person bent on hate. JMO

I can't find a link yet, but it was on the news that there has been another stabbing of a black male. he dragged himself to a nearby emergency room, but police say they have indicators that this attack is not related to the others. Tonight's victim is expected to live.

May 24 - David Motley, 31, (walked with a limp). Near Leith and Dexter streets. Died.
June 21 - Em(m)anuel Muhammad, 59. Avenue B near Williams St. Died.
July 12 - Antoine Jackson, 27. Near S. Saginaw Rd and Jolson Ave (in Burton). Survived.
July 19 - unknown name, 49. Was asked for help with car. N. Saginaw St. near Juliah. Survived.
July 26 - Darwin Marshall, 43. Garland St. near West Fifth Ave. Died.
July 29 - unknown name. Was asked for directions. West 12th St. Survived.
July 30 - Frank Kellybrew, 60. Miller Road near Home Town Inn. Died.
Aug 3 - Arnold Minor, 49. S. Saginaw St. near Barton S. Died.

One thing that surprised me about the list of victims was that they aren't what I would consider 'elderly', as they had been characterized by the early media reports. Only 2 of the victims that I have information for are over 50.

Hey, I just noticed that the first 5 dates on my list are Mondays, which means they were attacked in the wee hours after midnight on a Sunday.
Later in the list, as the frequency picked up to more than weekly, there were 2 men attacked on Thursday and Friday (2 nights in a row!) and then again on the Monday.
I presume that the late hours of Sunday nights and early hours of Monday morning are pretty quiet times in Flint?
It would be good to see when the other surviving victims were attacked. Flint LE has not released this list so far, as far as I am aware.

Detectives have been investigating the attacks since they started, but a pattern only became apparent on Tuesday, a day after 49-year-old Arnold Minor was found slain along a Flint street.

I can just imagine how frightened the people living in that area are. They need to get this man off the street and pronto. Frankly, as this is more publicized, he is likely to come up against someone with a gun that isn't going to play with him. You know people are probably carrying weapons in that area right now. I don't blame them if they are. People shouldn't have to live in fear. I can't believe this guy has not made any mistakes or left any DNA. Possbily not in the system.

State Police said that, based on interviews with victims who survived stabbing attacks, they believe the killer drives a 1995 to 2006 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer, GMC Jimmy or similar type of vehicle. It’s believed to be two-tone green over beige or gold and has four doors.

The guy is now in Toledo...been all over the news today..church maintenance worker (african-american) was approached by man Saturday night and asked for directions, then stabbed him twice in abdomen. He's still alive and gave an excellent description..they are saying here that he is of Middle Eastern nationality, reported elsewhere as caucasion...here is composite...
