Wow! I wish NC would be more like TN when setting bond. That's a great bond.
In NC you can be charged with child prostitution, child trafickking, false report, and resisting arrest and get a 50,000 bond.

Davdison grew up with Dickens, both went to Craigmont High School. She said she's frustrated with the way the family has handled little Lauryn's disappearance.
"They don't want to give any statements. They don't want to talk to the news but why not if it's anybody in my family or anything like that, I'm going to want to come forward. I'm going to want answers, I would want to say something and let it be known."
According to Davidson, Dickens has another child, a little boy around 2-years old. She said since Lauryn's birth, Dickens seemed to resent the baby girl.
"She treated Lauryn different because Lauryn's father is in jail and he's can't help her, so I guess she blamed Lauryn for it," said Davidson.

“We can’t confirm anything the way she is saying it is. She has been all over the board with different stories,” said Memphis Police Director, Larry Godwin. “I really believe and feel the child has suffered bodily harm.”
Homicide detectives are conducting the investigation. Evidence has been collected from Dicken’s apartment. According to a search warrant, cadaver dogs turned up the scent of human remains at her apartment.
“We submitted samples from the house and hopefully there will be some DNA when it comes back,” said Godwin about the evidence collected.

Friday, Shakara's mother, Traci Dickens, wouldn't answer her door, but a short time later, four people emerged from her home. But they had nothing to say about where Lauryn Dickens might be.
Memphis police were equally quiet about the case Friday. Investigators are still waiting to learn the outcome of information gained by a few search warrants, and say they'll know where to proceed after that.

Hooboy, cousin says that:
"Just Sunday, your baby's missing, just Sunday she was out at the club"
(you have to watch the video, a clip of Lauryn's Mom in court as well)
Cousin says the Lauryn's Mother does have another child, a little boy "around" 2 yrs old.
Cousin says since Lauryn's birth, Dickins (Lauryn's Mom) appeared to resent the little girl. She says she treated Lauryn different. Cousin guesses it was because Lauryn's Father was in jail and couldn't help Dickens with Lauryn.
Cousin says she knew plenty of people including family members that would have taken care of Lauryn for Dickens.
My interpretation of what Cousin said: Cousin says she doesn't understand why Dickens family isn't speaking up on behalf of Lauryn.

Shakara had 8 days for the child to decompose and be thrown in the trash. I certainly hope they are going through the city dump.

Not sure if the video is up yet but, Shakara's mother Traci and her friends threw raw eggs at reporter Stephanie Scurlock this afternoon when she was trying to get some answers. Then Traci wrote some nasty things on the reporters facebook.

Ohhhhh.... if they threw eggs at my camera equipment....
Another reason I chose not to do photojournalism. People who hire you to take their picture are far less likely to attack you for doing so. Geesh.

I agree and to me not cooperating = guilt, knowledge, withholding... something's not right here. I mean I'm sure they are frustrated with the media attention but if that were my Granddaughter I'd want the media all over it and telling someone everything I knew.

Thanks for the link. I'm shocked by the lack of cooperation from the Grandmother, but after 11 years in Memphis I really shouldn't be shocked about anything.

I'm shocked this case isnt getting more attention. It kinda makes you wonder if its not because of race. This baby deserves as much attention as Caylee
