NC - Zahra Clare Baker, 10, Hickory, 9 Oct. 2010 #24
All past threads located at the bottom of the page...
If you have any information regarding this abduction, call the Hickory Police Department immediately at (828) 328-5551, (828) 328-5551 or call 911 or *HP.
Please Continue Here...
Regarding social networks
Regarding facebook, twitter, and myspace you can link but do not cut and paste. But the goal is to really only link to those that are directly linked to a case.
IOW, we don't want to post to someone's mother, brother, employer, milkman , or postal carrier just because they know the main player. It just gets too invasive and half the time we are not even sure it is the right person. When a post starts out, I found 5 people with this name do you you think any of these are [insert person here]? that is not a good thing.
It will often be up to mod discretion as to who can and cannot be linked, but the general rule of thumb is if they are named in the media specifically as having some role or are being questioned or have information then you are probably safe to link. No screen caps and no cutting and pasting. If a social media is set to private and you get in the back way and post what you see, that is not a good thing!Private means private.
Just imagine if is you if you cannot decide and you shoulod be able to figure out if it is ok.
You are free to discuss what you may come upon, but if it is just a lot of gossip and rumor it won't fly. People open facebook accounts and post whatever they want and to carry that as some sort of inside info is careless. but, sometimes there is really valuable information that may even come into evidence as in the Caylee Anthony case. So, if you know for a fact it is the right person and they are named outright in the msm as someone linked to the case it should be fine. IF IT IS A MINOR DON"T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!!
If something was posted as public and then removed you might be able to post it, it is up to the mod of the forum and it depends on who, what, when and where.
The mods are listed at the bottom right of the forum under the index, they can generally help. If not, they will ask admin for guidance and we will all decide what is best.
Generally we try not to invade everyone's privacy and if the linked information has no bearing on anything, then leave it out.
We moderate here. Some people love it and some people hate it. Up to you to stay or go, choice is yours. Complaining about our rules doesn't help. if you have a suggestion or think of a better way, bring it on! We are far from perfect and welcome your input as long as it is civil and basically polite.
Rumors are not allowed! No sleuthing AY or the London Dude. If you have questions please PM me or a Mod, we will be happy to help. Lets keep the threads dedicated to Zahra. Thank you.

Just for info, Hickory does have an airport there....Not an international airport but some folks use it to get to Charlotte-Douglas faster. My husband used it once.
Also, EB didn't get back to jail until 6pm? Where the heck was she? (Sorry if you have been discussing this...I've not caught up reading for today)

I need a synopsis page! OK....AB is arrested at Charlotte Airport. EB taken around in LE's SUV to possible crime scenes. Anything else? TIA....
|
That's pretty much it! The booking shows he was processed at 3:12 a.m. Some speculation as to whether he may have been picking up his mom or someone else on a late-night flight from Australia, but no definitive word on that. Appears to me that may have been the case and that upon his return to Hickory (either on his own or by LE "escort" -- we don't know), that he was arrested and booked into the system.
EB was taken from her cell to a search site this afternoon (footage of the SUV she was in was shown, but you couldn't see her and reporters didn't see her emerge from the vehicle). That's all we know about that.
LE stated today that they had a promising new lead (they went to search about a mile from a home EB used to live in 3 yrs ago in Caldwell Co.), and said that wasn't the only new development (per one of the reporters)...but we haven't heard what other developments there might have been.
That's really all I can think of that was "newsy" today.

They had plenty of time to hide her but where? Where would I think to hide her where nobody would look? Are there old wells around where they lived?

These things stuck out to me:
Searchers in Caldwell don't find Zahra on Monday
"We're following up on leads Hickory gets in our county,'' said Alan Jones, sheriff of Caldwell County. "We've gotten several leads.''
He acknowledged that several have not panned out, but said any lead is important.
Jones did not say what, specifically, investigators were looking for, just that they were looking for "different parts of evidence.''
Investigators left just before dusk without finding Zahra, despite her stepmother, Elisa, being at the scene. Elisa arrived at the search of the woods in a SUV at about midday, but did not get out of the car. She stayed for only a short time, before the SUV left.
However, according to an official at the Catawba County Detention Center, Elisa, 42, did not return to the jail until about 6 p.m. Information about where she went after she left the search site was not available.

My gosh if I lived within 50 miles of them, I would be scouting out in my area big time....don't people pay attention? Heck I live in the country and I notice buzzards and where they are all the time...doesn't this ring a bell to anyone if they saw something like that to go look?

Wonder, the only other thing that I noted that you didn't bold is what I put in red above. "Different parts of evidence" just seemed such a... particular... phrasing....

Even though we know he was probably not arrested at the airport (possibly, maybe, sort of)
Do you think we can assume that is the right airport he was at when he went back to LE to give a statement? (possibly, maybe sort of)?
