Woman abducted by two men in Paterson, NJ

PATERSON, NJ (WABC) -- Police in Paterson say they are searching for a missing woman who was seen being abducted by two men.

It happened at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the area of Hamilton Avenue and Straight Street.

Witnesses say they saw 30-year-old Anne Donahue being dragged up the railroad tracks by two black men wearing black hooded sweatshirts.

Donahue was reported missing from her home in Manchester.

She was last seen driving a 2001 Four Door Bronze Chevrolet Impala with NJ Plates YTH-30P.

Donahue is described as 5'5" tall, 135 lbs., with green eyes and brown hair.

there is almost no good part of Paterson.

If I am correct, Hamilton and Straight streets are in downtown Paterson. During the day at least there is a lot of traffic, vehicular and people, what with the court house and other business that goes on there.

the article is not that clear but I assume they mean she was missing from Manchester NJ and if so that is closer to the shore. (a lot of senior citizen housing is down that way)

I was about to post about illicit activities in Paterson then I realized that this happened at 11 AM!

suffice it to say, unless the police are referring to a different Manchester, I'm at a loss to explain why she would have driven up from the shore to be in Paterson. it is WAY too long a commute. she would not have been visiting family in the city and she is older than your average college student that might be in the area.

As for those illicit activities, Paterson is a place known for the drug trade and there are other places in NJ much closer to Manchester (the shore town) than Paterson (like Newark or even Asbury Park for that matter). Maybe she was originally from the area moved away from old stomping grounds but just could not shake some old bad habits.

Lots of news articles, but they all have the same info.

In reading them over,
it says she has been reported missing from Manchester.
According to mapquest, that is 82 miles and 1 3/4 hours driving time....
So, why was she there?

She is 30 yrs old.
It is a Mon. at 11am.
Her car not found.
Does she have a job? Go to school?
Does she have a child?
To run into trouble at 11am, she would have had to leave home
at or before 9am, arrive in town, park the car,
somehow capture the attention of two men who drag her down
the railroad tracks.

She could have family or friends in the area.
But at this point, no family or friends are in the media, pleading for answers.

I am hoping she can be found safe.

A thought about why she was in town:
Maybe she was traveling and got off the freeway to get gas, food,
take a break?
Maybe she was there the night before, stayed in a motel and
something happened there?

I just hope LE can find her soon.

there is no doubt they are talking about Manchester Township down the shore. Ocean County is where she was last living:

Dream, there is no highway from the shore that passes through Paterson that would explain exiting for gas. Paterson is off of Route 80 and even if she were going west she could have taken Route 287 to bypass the northeast NJ traffic.

that explains alot. Bergen County is right next to Passaic County where Paterson is the county seat.

Yes, you're right, missed her friends, but still goes out 2 x a month with them.
I just wanted to note that she seems a very trusting soul, she just
opens up on the site and tells her life story.

What if Anne went there as part of her job? She states on the one site she is
an office manager. She works for a forklift company.

I looked at a google map of the area where she was grabbed http://bit.ly/adSwk1 -- it's just a few blocks from City Hall!

Hopefully LE has a handle on this & already have some leads.

I was thinking the same thing.
She has many friends, she mentions her mom, I would think family
and friends would be out searching or putting up posters or starting a FB page.....

I hope she is found safe and soon.

Paterson police searching Tuesday for a missing woman — who might have been abducted — said they found her car in the city around 9 a.m.

Lt. Alex Popov said crime scene investigators were searching the car for fingerprints and other clues to the whereabouts of the woman previously identified as Anne Donahue, 30, of Manchester Township, Ocean County.
