HOWARD, Ohio – An Ohio sheriff says authorities are searching for a missing woman, her two children and a female friend in a case that has prompted an overnight lockdown at a nearby college.
Knox County Sheriff David Barber told WBNS-TV the boyfriend of one woman reported her missing on Wednesday, and that the woman's co-worker said she didn't show up for work on Thursday.
The co-worker went to the woman's home and noticed that things were out of place. The sheriff says police searched the house and found it in "an unusual condition," but he did not elaborate.
The woman's pickup truck was found abandoned Thursday on property owned by nearby Kenyon College. The college ordered a lockdown until 7 a.m. Friday of all students on the residential campus.

A neighbor said a man who lived at 49 Columbus Rd. was taken out of the house in handcuffs about 8 this morning. A body also was removed, Donna Davis said.

From the news conference: No body removed from the home. Sarah is currently in the hospital. Man in custody from house Sarah found in. He is charged with kidnapping. More charges expected. He is not cooperating. No evidence yet of where the other 3 are. Sarah has been with man since Wednesday. She was found bound and g...agged in the basement of the residence. Still being treated as a missing person's case

Very nice summary Angelainwi.....Thank you. I believe the neighbor mistook Sarah on the gurney all covered up as a "body bag". Thank goodness.

"Matthew Hoffman, 30, who lives in the home, was taken into custody after the raid, Barber said, and faces a kidnapping charge. Additional charges are expected, Barber said."
