Search, calls still yield no signs of missing man

More than a week after his last appearance at a local club's "last call," there remains no concrete leads in the whereabouts of Jose Odum, 37, the Gloucester man who was reported missing by his family in the early-morning hours of Nov. 15.

Gloucester — The sisters of a Gloucester man missing for almost two weeks are asking for the community to help in their search.

Jose “Joey” Odum, 37, was reported missing in the early morning hours of Nov. 15 after calling relatives and saying he was “going into the ocean” and not coming back.

Jose “Joe” Odum was last seen at the Latitude 43 Restaurant and Bar in Gloucester, said Gloucester Police Detective Tom Quinn.

Three weeks after Jose "Joe" Odum disappeared, his sisters are organizing a second community search effort this weekend in the hopes of finding at least some clues to their 37-year-old brother's whereabouts.

Johanna Fulford, one of the Gloucester man's sisters, said she's hoping friends and other residents join in meeting Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at Stage Fort Park to plot the latest search effort."

The family of a Gloucester man who disappeared last month are desperate to find him before it is too late.

Joe Odum, 37, was last seen at Latitude 43 bar in Gloucester in the early hours of Nov. 14. He made a cell phone call at about 2:30 a.m. and hasn’t been heard from since, according to Terry Weber, an advocate for Families of the Missing, who is assisting Odum’s three sisters in the search.

Gloucester — “When our brother is found, I might yell at him for putting us through this,” said Johanna Fulford, sister of missing Gloucester man Joe Odum. “Then I will hug him and we’ll cry like babies.”

Fulford spoke with a sad smile as she stood on a volunteer search boat last week in Gloucester Harbor.

Gloucester police and family members have confirmed that the body recovered along the shoreline below Stacy Boulevard Sunday was that of Gloucester resident Jose "Joe" Odum, who had been missing since last November.
