TX - Hailey Dunn, 13, Colorado City, 27 Dec 2010 - #7
Hailey is 13 years old. She was heading to stay with a friend on Monday Dec. 27th but never made it. She is 5'1" with hazel eyes and brown hair. She also has pierced ears. She was last seen at 1804 Chestnut, wearing navy blue sweat pants, a light colored T-shirt and pink and white shoes.
Anyone who has seen Hailey contact the Colorado City Police Dept. at 325-728-5294

We are in the age of the internet life - and for those who live in small towns and big cities alike - social media sites such as fb, ms and twitter are huge and the way to connect with and talk daily with friends in an instant. Whether you are 8 or 80, you can have contact with virtually anyone. No proof of ID required........... wifi is everywhere - at your neighbors or local businesses. You can literally walk up a street anywhere and find a wifi connection.

I want to end this night by saying that my heart goes out to BD and to any of you who are close to her tell her there is lots and lots of people hoping the best for her and Hailey. please tell her if there is anything i can do as a local, such as cook dinner for her or go to the store please let me know.

I do worry about boyfriend, but first thoughts were does she have a computer? It was reported that a lady saw the two girls and a strange male walking in town. Its a small town, right? If the lady is not a loon, she probably knows what she saw. If this is true. Possibly a guy she met online that came to see her, and take her away from her "misery." No teenaged girl likes the step=dad, boyfriend. They love their daddies. The key is in the girlfriends answers....when I was that age, we snuck out to see the boys up the street all the time and walked the streets of my small town all hours of night.
The problem is, what kind of guy did she meet???
If boyfriend did harm her in that time, where is the crime scene? Did he leave after he came home? Where is his cell phone pinging?
Dad..he is going to hurt someone. I heard on Nancy Grace the mom admit that she was told she failed the polygraph, as did her boyfriend (per mom). The question she failed was did she know who harmed Hailey (a variation of that). When people suspicion someone, such as the boyfriend, I would guess that she would automatically become suspicious herself, as would anyone...just doubts, reasonable, so that would be enough to cause you to fail that question. I really dont think mom was involved.
I may be way off base, but Im banking on that witness that saw them walking, the internet, and a meeting. Hopefully a meeting that doesnt end tragic.
I hope she is home safe soon.

I am curious about this as well. Was the neighbor's "sighting" of Hailey talking on the phone in the yard confirmed? Would neighbor be asked to take polygraph?
If neighbor's sighting isn't confirmed/correct would the last time Hailey was seen be Sunday night (by her mom and/or brother, I mean) - in addition to SA stating he saw her around 3, of course. I am just asking, not insinuating anything as far as neighbor not telling the truth. Just trying to nail down the last time her mom and/or brother actually saw/spoke to her. I hope that makes sense, I am very tired and about to get some sleep.

ajk, you are so thoughtful! I too have wondered if any group has stepped up to help with food for Hailey's family or even for the officers and city officials who are working long hours. I don't know if anyone is taking care of this and since I am not in C-City I don't know who to contact. Maybe someone at the command center would have a list to sign up to help.

No, you are making perfect sense, course maybe that's because I'm exhausted as well. I can think of several cases where a neighbor or someone says that they absolutely saw the person, then come to find out later the person was dead for two weeks prior or that they had traveled to the other side of the country weeks earlier to that date and well, unless we're talking ghosts. It's probably also important to know when this information came about. Was the neighbor asked on the 28th or asked on the 4th? That could have a big impact on accuracy as well. Course phone records should show that "someone" was back there on the phone at that time, if it is correct.

No kids that we are aware of.
No previous marriages that we are aware of. He is only 25 and has been dating Billie apparently for 3 years. Though that could have been off and on from his my space postings.
He has one arrest for public intoxication in August of 2010. I haven't found anything else.
I guess we can gather from that he is a drinker to some extent.
He did work but lost his job/quit his job December 27th.
I don't know if we confirmed where he worked?
I don't know about friends. I know he has family that he sees/stays with often. Haven't heard about friends.
Haven't heard about video games. He likes heavy metal music and horror movies... but so does Hailey's Mom and many of our members here. 
I believe he graduated high school. We have had some locals mention they went to school with him and I'm pretty sure they said he graduated. Not 100% though.
He seemed pretty happy just to be with Billie from his my space, as far as hobbies go.
I'm sure others will remember more.

Im sorry, who was Hailey on her phone with the entire day the day she vanished (like in timeline order)
also while surfing fb, its crazy to see the amount of her peers that have Andriods and Iphone/Ipad/Ipod touch.. . I guess the days of roping Dinty Moore cans together to speak as kids are long gone. I feel old

You know, that is a great idea - maybe a local church or grange with a kitchen could serve as a "drop in" and eat/rest/have coffee point for everyone involved. a 24/7 thing and it would give the local people a way to help - because it sure sounds like a great community and everyone seems concerned, caring, and very thoughtful. How kind of AJK to offer that to the family!

Hailey is in a somewhat unique position - living with Mom yet in walking distance to her Dad. IF she felt uncomfortable around SA - was she welcome to go to Dad's at any time and stay? Is Dad aware of any weird/uncomfortable feelings that Hailey had about SA?

There was mention of a "mystery man" on Nancy who took two polygraphs and failed, then took a 3rd and passed. (I think I got that right.)
I wondered if that mystery man was this neighbor.
Would make sense to me that you would first polygraph Billie, Clint and the neighbor because they would be the last 3 adults to see her.
Maybe the brother but he is a minor. Since we know an Uncle has been polygraphed, I would hope they would have tested that neighbor as well. I would have done him before the Uncle.

Don't know what to think in this case. I tend to go with the simplest scenario - who was the last person with the child and go from there. It was verified by Billie that her son David was not home that day. It was verified that SA lost his job at 6:30 that morning, so he was not at his job. No one else has come forward to have seen or heard from Hailey. Process of elimination. Of course, all IMHO!

I am trying to figure out if anyone can really confirm any sighting/encounter with Hailey on Monday at all. Okay, off to bed - I haven't slept much since we started this forum. Sometimes, these cases just tear at your heart.
