The 63-year-old Sulkind, who was born in Mexico City, last spoke with his staff on Sunday, reporting that he was going to run some errands.
However, he left his cell phone at his home and has not been in contact with friends and work associates since.

According to John C. Palmer, executive vice president of Salkind’s production company, Salkind was visiting the town of Tepoztlán, near Mexico City, but he’s been unreachable since Sunday night. A missing person’s report was filed with the Mexican police force on Monday, the American Embassy has been contacted, and a personal private investigator has been hired, according to Palmer.

why would he leave his cell at home? I mean, really? no one I know leaves their cell at home 'cause it kinda defeats the purpose of having one right? so unless he 'forgot' it, I consider that suspicious ...

ITA; had the same thoughts as soon as I read: "However, he left his cell phone at his home and has not been in contact with friends and work associates since."
Has there been any mention of a vehicle? How was he moving around? Was he using his late Mom's car or had he rented one?
Kind of odd to have a dentist appointment on a Sunday, but I guess that is possible. Has that dentist been contacted?

In a very Hollywood style happy ending to what was shaping up to look like a tragedy, "Superman" movie Producer Ilya Salkind is alive, a source close to Salkind has reported to us tonight. Our source tells us Ilya has been hospitalized in Mexico and sedated since Monday.
Stay tuned to the Superman Homepage for more on this breaking story.

Daughter says her father was attacked, according to TMZ
http://www.tmz.com/2011/02/04/superm...cer-anastasia/
The daughter said her father was brutally attacked and may have been kidnapped.
Seems difficult to believe he just had an accident and couldn't call home for 4 days, just because he forgot his cell phone. Strange story.
