More info
Dennis Pickar, who spoke to us by phone from Minnesota, says Marty Davis began working for him several months ago driving his truck.
He says the last time he talked to him was on Sunday night.
He says Davis was somewhere in Alabama and headed to Memphis to drop off a load of food.
He was supposed to make that delivery early Monday morning, but never did.
Tuesday Bartlett police found his semi outside the Hollywood Cinema on Stage Road with his belongings still inside
"It's very unusual. The truck was unlocked, the keys were in it and so was his laptop," said Pickar.
Bartlett Police say Davis talked to his girlfriend by phone late Sunday night and told her he was going to a movie and going to get some rest before making his delivery Monday.
Pickar says Davis was going through a divorce and had been living out of the truck.
Still, he has no reason to believe he would just walk away from his truck and his job.

Very little has been reported here so far. The area where the truck was found is a highly commercial area. Very upscale, safe if you will, area. I'll keep you all posted on any new updates...

Rumor from his friend's page: "Big Marty" said they found blood on the steering wheel of the truck.

There is not a lot of info out there. But, if he was going to a movie, can the security cameras be checked to see if he made it to there? With all his belongings still in the truck, maybe the blood found in the truck is true and someone attacked him?
Hoping he is found soon.

Authorities today located the 37-year-old truck driver whose abandoned rig was found near a Bartlett movie theater earlier this week.
Bartlett police have confirmed that Marty Leroy Davis is at his father’s residence in Little Rock. A press release this afternoon stated Davis is unharmed, and decided to walk off his job.
Bartlett Police Insp. Jeff Cox said they confirmed his location through family and employers. He also said Davis, who uses a Nephi, Utah address, provided Bartlett police with personal information, such as his social security number, to verify they were talking to him.

Good grief. A simple phone call to his employer would have solved all sorts of questions.
Or to his girlfriend.
Glad he is safe.

I'm glad he's safe! But, I agree with dreamweaver- a simple "I quit" phone call to his job probably would have been easier.

What kind of food was he carrying? Generally food is kind of on a time frame and will go bad. I would be pretty unhappy if I was his employer. Just deliver the load in Memphis, then walk off your job. Finish at least what you started. Even aside from not letting anyone know where you are... leaving an unlocked semi with the keys in it, full of food is totally inconsiderate too.
Then again, these inconsiderate things really annoy me...

Thx's crocus or the update yesterday. It was late last night when I got home. My husband and I were talking about the location. This location is less that 3 miles from my office. Very upscale location. (Not that anything bad an't happen in upscale location, but this location is very, very, crime low).... All 100% retail/commercial...Lot's of fast food joints, restuarants, pharmacies, and one grocery chain "Schnuck's"...we too were trying to figure out where his "load" was going...My best guess, if it were in that area would be Schnucks..However...The location is not far from I40, so it's hard to say if he just randomly drove upon this location or not. Either way, I wonder how he got to Little Rock ???
