Here is the local newspaper. Not a word mentioned about Whitney.
I do not live there now, but am originally from the area and have family who still lives there.

I am from the Hattiesburg/Petal area and have heard about this but cant
find any information anywhere about it. This is my son's girlfriend's cousin. Where is it online locally? Thanks

OH I bet you are talking about My Hattiesburg and yes I did see it there. Not much news about it.

The above article has been updated to say that LE interviewed the boy the parents thought she might be with, and he has he hasn't seen her. She has been in contact with a few of her friends, so that is good news, and that there was a reported sighting of her on USM's campus.
