She is beautiful!
From link above (BBM):
According to the New York City Police Department, Zakyyah was last seen at about 4 p.m. Monday, in Manhattan near East 113 Street and Second Avenue. No further information is immediately available.
This happened Monday and no other information is available?? Who was she with? Why was she there? Who saw her last?
So aggravating.

I Googled her name and got a page and a half of results with the exact same info as the first post here. How can a 12 year-old be missing for 4 days and there is no info??? So frustrating.

Bumping for Zakyyah. I can't believe there isn't one bit of new info since yesterday. Unbelievable.
Locals, has there been any reporting about Zakyyah on the local news?

Why is there no more information on this beautiful young girl? What a sweet face!
I hope she is found alive and in good health. NYC is a very difficult place to look for a missing child.
Please let this one be a miracle. Please.

I searched the NY Post for Zakyyah Copeland and got "0" results. Nothing. How can this be?

When I think about the reasons WHY this case isn't being reported I just want to
Sad, sad, sad that you have to be pretty much blonde and beautiful to get the news coverage you need to be found if you are a missing person....thats the real reason I bleach my hair, lol! Just playing of course, but, its really not funny at all.
And before I go off to bang my head on the wall, is it possible she has been located and that just didn't get reported? I really hope so!!!

You don't have to be blond & beautiful, but your family & friends need to take action (like start an FB page) to get public attention; but please remember that sometimes people close to the missing person feel that discretion is the wisest course.
4:00 pm on a Monday? Was she leaving school? This school is near the intersection of E 113 th & 2nd Ave in Manhattan.
P.S. 102 Jacques Cartier School
http://insideschools.org/elementary/browse/school/172
In missing children cases, custody is usually an issue.
One of her parents may have taken her to another locality.
Or she may be a victim of foul play.
The lack of publicity may be politically motivated: could the NYC public school have been negligent in some way?

Reason: add name of school

But boy does it sure help
I really hope its just something like a custody battle, and she is safe wherever she is...and I do find it strangely bizarre the lack of concern for this case....it almost makes you think someone MUST have reason to keep quiet.

Or she may have been found already and the articles were never updated. It happens a lot, especially in the larger cities like NYC and Chicago.
Hoping that's the case.

I am also hoping that is the case. At least her disappearance was in the media to begin with!

This girl has gone missing 4 times now, the earliest time was in September, and she recently disappeared again December 23rd.
http://www.dnainfo.com/20111223/harl...st-harlem-home
From the article: A 12-year-old girl has vanished from her East Harlem home — the fourth time she has gone missing in recent months, authorities said.

LydiaDeetz, do you think that may be the reason for the lack of media? I wonder where she was found the last three times? At a friend's, a boyfriend's????
I hate to think a child has to be "blond and beautiful" in order for people/media to care whether he/she is missing.
This young lady IS beautiful. Hopefully, her parents know where she is and that's there reason for staying quiet...and hopefully, she'll come home safe and sound.
