This Gainesville man went missing 7 years ago. Investigators are still looking for leads

“Despite an ongoing effort to solve the case, including several searches using dogs this year, criminal investigations division detectives have no leads in the case,” said Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Derreck Booth in a news release.

Funk’s mother, Marsha Funk, said investigators drained a well where they found a comforter belonging to her son, but nothing else was found.

“The new investigator that’s on the case, he’s done, I think, more in the last six months than has been done probably in several years,” she said.
