Canada~Would-be author, Michael Jeffery suffers "writer's block", turns to child porn

What a mess!! So, a guy swears he doesn't know what Limewire is, doesn't know what file sharing is, doesn't know where the child porn came from, lets his son take the rap, and then says it's all due to writer's block. The only thing missing is redemption.

Child pornography was 'research,' accused says

"A Saskatoon man who faces jail time over a collection of child pornography police found on his home computer says he downloaded and viewed more than two dozen graphic videos of sexual abuse against prepubescent kids several times as "research" for the "somewhat auto-biographical" novel he was writing four years ago. "I didn't feel like I was doing anything wrong because my intent was not to use this stuff in any evil, wrong or immoral way," Michael Jeffery testified during his trial in provincial court Thursday...."

"....A draft of Jeffery's lengthy three-part novel was filed as a defence exhibit at his trial. It contains no reference to child porn, court heard. Jeffery said he'd been suffering from "writer's block" for several months in 2007 and was unsure how to end the novel until he came up with the idea of having its main character become obsessed with child porn, then getting caught by his son and having his life ruined before finally finding redemption...."

Okay we have heard the old ‘it was just for research for a book I am writing’ excuse before. This guy is a bad piece of work.

The sad thing, to my mind, is that the story line became self-prophetic. It all happened just as he wrote. The sad thing is that his son died. You have to wonder what precipitated that overdose. Was it taking the rap for dad initially?
