Sincerely, here is a link showing the distance between Rosie and Sierra. I just plugged in a random addy for Sierra since I didn't have hers handy. I should only be a couple of blocks off.

Thanks SuziQ. Pretty close...maybe moved to a different apartment complex? Who knows after 17 years, if there is even a connection of course.

The apartments Rosie lived at was called Heartland apartments at the time. It's now called Seasons. The address is 1616 W. Snow Queen Place SLC UT 84104.
I lived there as a kid until 1992. She was taken in 1995.

I think "The girl" was the reporter's words, not the grandfather's. Notice how they aren't in quotes.

At first glance I thought that comment "the girl" was odd but then I noticed the placement of the quotation marks. Is it possible he said "we don't have any idea" when asked a question about how she disappeared and the AP contributed 'the girl'?

I also am not sure I would be strong enough to be posting on FB and saying I can function again so soon after such a horrific thing. It is odd to me but I am not saying they have anything to do with this. My gut says they don't but I feel like I would be a mess this soon after my daughter was sexually assaulted and murdered. I thought they wrote the obit and made funeral arrangements rather quickly also. It could have to do with their faith and views on death. I don't know.

It could be that LE stated a sexual predator on the loose because they know the murder isn't really a sexual predator and state he is in hopes that the killer will make a move to prove he isn't. If you all know what I mean. She might not have been raped but LE is trying to draw the killer out.

Yeah...I didn't want to say anything about that quote found on mom's page...but, the same thought did cross my mind. I don't feel like she is involved...it just came across wrong. Not bashing the parents in ANY way...

Police seize surveillance video.

Surveillance footage taken of the area surrounding the girl's home is currently under investigation.
'Our contacts at the FBI have been helping us with that. They’ve been working on enhancing that [surveillance video],' Mr Sanders told Fox 13.
'Right now, we do know that there are images on there and our investigators are analyzing that and trying to determine what use those are and if any evidence exists,' he said.

So that is Rosie (6) Sierra (6) Diana Hernandez(7) Monica Dasilva (7) Unknown found alive (2), , April Marie Rhodes (7) Isabel Celis (6) all taken from their bedrooms. Except for Isabel (because she has not been found we don't know) they were taken from bedrooms, raped, and murdered (two year old survived). Gregory Wallen was a suspect in Diana's murder, trial put off until 2011, can't find any other info.

Re:mom's fb post. I feel very similarly as you in that I fully admit upon reading it the words make you pause and definitely struck me as something that I personally would not be saying or would even be posting.. but I, too felt Marlene LaMar 's words were striking and odd and felt they may have possible weight.. i later learned i was very very wrong and of course was nothing but a devastated mom/victim..

My gut is like yours as well that moms not iinvolved and i very much hope in this case that they are able to quickl clear the parents and state that publicly. .for now its a horrible waiting game..

What's bad is LE is zipped up tight now.. i mean nothing as in wont confirm/deny was there forced entry and was she taken from her bedroom.. seems like if anything the tiny bit we thought we knew is now being stated as no comment/unknown.

There have been vague references to two other siblings, but LE is refusing to say anything about them or any circumstances leading to Sierra's disappearance.

The older brother who was home when she was reported missing, is not that much older. 8-10 years old or so.
The sister is about 4. Those are the only siblings I am aware of details on.
I am beginning to think that this is a blended family... that maybe Sierra and T are the kids they had together and the other 4 are his and hers?

Mom's facebook was private until this happened. That's why it's only those two posts on her facebook.

My guess is that she has chosen facebook to connect, rather than answer the calls and emails she has been getting.

Her comments do not surprise me and I don't feel they are abnormal. I KNOW if I try to elaborate on that I will offend someone.
