Conflicting info in the court document:
section 14, paragraph 3
On May 25, 2012, the bicycle last seen in the possession of MS was found partially submerged in or about Whiskey Bay, in the Parish of St Martin.
But the day it was physically recovered was May 27, a Sunday.

I do remember discussion & a timeline entry made for May 26 as the day the tip was received, but now its moved back 2 days from the day it was removed from the water.

That is interesting and I think would bear some discussion -- there were some strange tales circulating about just how that bike recovery went down. My problem is -- I can't remember what was disallowed as "too rumor-y" and what was not! I hope someone who remembers the distinction better will show up here ...

I posted this back on July 8th with 3 links to sources for the tip & recovery both being Sunday, the 27th.
I don't know if it matters, but its bothersome that the date keeps changing.

Would it be possible that the fisherman saw the bike or a portion of it on May 25th not realizing what it was? Then upon hearing\seeing about Mickey returned on the 27th to confirm what he saw then called it in? Might explain the two different dates.

It would have been shortly before I posted that. I recall that post was to point out the conflict then when the 26th came up. The 26th and the 27th are both used in LPD press releases, IIRC.

Here's the posts and the discussion (starts at #1551) on the bike being found on the 26th and the 27th recovery.

I'm not sure what to make of the conflicting dates, but it really bothers me that LE wasnt out there the minute they heard a bike matching the decription of hers was spotted in WB. JMO

The following three links are to posts by crzimmer that I believe refer to the story I am remembering. I cannot find the "fuller details" post I remember -- maybe that one was removed, or maybe it's there and I just haven't been able to find it. I tend to believe the details I'm remembering may be close to "the true story". (Not sure about the handgrips part, as mentioned in one of the posts linked below -- but other, broader details.)

Has anybody spotted anything in the Bill of Particulars, etc., document released recently that looks as though it might refer to the person/s who found the bike? (statements taken, etc.)

I have a question for anyone. I read somewhere and am currently trying to find where...that the handle grips were found out in the water and the bike near shore/1/2 submerged. I had read that MS dad had tried to take those grips off but were so difficult without 'cutting' them off, they left them alone.
If BSL's hand WAS injured by MS, I keep going back to the thought he had to get rid of the bike before he was injured due to the handgrips being taken off.
Does anyone remember if this was an actual confirmation or a local/Cajunnet type of information that has not been confirmed by MSM yet?
Thanks,
Kelly

I almost have to wonder if BSL didn't injure himself in the act of cutting those grips off.
