Exclamation MO - Christopher Marks, 12, Eureka, 5 Aug 2012

Christopher Marks missing near Pacific Palisades

Eureka, MO (KSDK) - Crews in St. Louis County are continuing the search for a missing 12-year-old boy.

Police were called to the Pacific Palisades Conservation Area to search for 12-year-old Christopher Marks who went missing Sunday evening.

Investigators say Marks is a white male, five feet three to four inches tall and approximately 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue or black shorts, with no shirt and no shoes. He is a seventh grader at Rogers Middle School. Family members say Chris has a twin sister.

They were there Saturday and Sunday to go swimming and barbeque. The group says Marks left around 7:30 p.m. to go rope swing on the river and no one has seen or heard from him since.

Search Resumes For Missing Affton Boy

(KTVI)- A new day brings a renewed search for a missing 12-year-old boy. Christopher Marks was last seen Sunday night swimming in the Meramec River with family and friends in the Pacific Pallisades Conservation area in far West St. Louis County.

Search crews began arriving around 6:00 a.m. Tuesday to look for the child. St. Louis County Police have secured the area, letting only authorized people and vehicles down the road.
On Monday, K9s traced Christopher’s scent to the Meramec and that’s where Tuesday’s search began. A $5000 reward has been offered to help find Christopher.

Expected to enter the 7th grade in the fall, Marks also has wilderness training and has earned a Boy Scout merit badge in swimming.

It seems like a good sign, I think

Missing Christopher Marks was last seen swinging from a tire above the Meramec River by a family member with him Sunday night at the Pacific Palisades Conservation Area, confirmed St. Louis County Police Chief Tim Fitch at the scene Tuesday morning.

Fitch said this effort is still consider a search and rescue endeavor.

Christopher is a 12-year-old from Affton who will be a seventh grader at Rodgers Middle School.

Police are searching specifically up to one mile downstream of where Christopher, his twin sister, stepfather and friends were Sunday evening.

"We will not stop until we've search over and over and over again all the options," said Fitch. "The officers won't rest until they've checked it all many times."

Another photo of Christopher

He's cute as he can be and looks to be quite a character! I pray he is found alive but in my heart of hearts I'm thinking, he is safe forevermore.

I expect he would have taken them off before using the rope.
Could have blown away or been moved by an animal

I don't know why he would not have returned to the rest of the people, unles he got lost..

They said he's a boy scout...I'd expect he'd know to stay put! But kids will be kids....kwim.
I'm wondering how it is that the socks were just found, I mean they've had dogs out there and they've been searching since Sunday evening.

If he isn't in the river then I fear he is injured. The weather in that area was absolutely horrible over the weekend with winds upwards of 70 mph in some areas. Looking through the internet I see where there was considerable damage in some areas with fallen trees, downed power lines and heavy rain and hail.

Todd Marks, Chris' dad, picked up socks from road; his daughter, Katie, yelled, "Those are Chris' socks!" County cop carried socks away.

Christopher Marks' family just found a pair of pink, white and blue socks near entrance of Pacific Palisades that they believe are his.

Again...why are those socks just now being found? Sorry, it just seems strange to me.
