He may have been staying at a bed and breakfast in Volcano Village.

Hawaii is paradise but it's also an extreme environment (on all islands) many do not realize how extreme it is and therefore how dangerous it is---there have been 12 tourist deaths this year already as of this post.
I hope the Mr. Yoshino is found alive and safe. Come home soon.

Japanese tourist missing, rental found near lava viewing area
(Hiromichi Yoshino)...who was last seen in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on Wednesday
( that wednesday would have been the date of 13 FEB 2013)
The maroon rental was unlocked, and inside, they found a piece of paper with the man's name, Hiromichi Yoshino, as well as money and an entrance receipt to Volcanoes National Park dated February 13th at 8:57 a.m. The car keys were still in the ignition.

Hiromichi Yoshino was last seen in the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Wednesday at about 8:57 a.m.
He may have been staying at a bed and breakfast in Volcano Village.
