ID - Dylan Michael John Parker, 18, Osburn, 12 January 2014

Deputies said they received information on Sunday that Dylan Michael John Parker was missing.

Parker called his mom around midnight to ask her to pick him up near the Osburn Shell station. He was not there when his mother arrived shortly after.

An employee at the Shell station said they had witnessed a male matching Parkerís description get into a white car with Kootenai County license plates. The employee said Parker got into the car with an adult male and female.

A little more:
"Parker’s cellphone has been going straight to voice mail since Saturday, the press release said."
http://www.shoshonenewspress.com/new...9bb2963f4.html

"Parker, a white, 5’10” 150-pound male with short brown hair and “Parker” tattooed across his shoulders, was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt hoodie, blue jeans and black work boots."

This doesn't sound good at all. Why get in a car if someone is on their way to pick you up? I wish their were some additional details.

There is one interesting comment here: https://www.facebook.com/KREM2/posts...0?stream_ref=1

Have to weed through comments from people who didn't read the article but someone who know's the family posted.

Are you logged in? I can get there by clicking. The link shortens after I hit "post reply" so not sure if that is changing it.

This is their page: https://www.facebook.com/KREM2. It is a few post down.

Found a possible Facebook for Dylan. Shows last (posting) activity (that I can tell) Saturday night between 8-9pm. Wasn't last time seen midnight?

Mods, delete if necessary. Still not too sure on FB rules of missing people.

You are good! I looked everywhere for one and couldn't find it :-P. I can only find the ones that have a unique name. Yes it was midnight (really Sunday) but he had been at friends' house Saturday night and waited for mom at midnight Sunday, at the gas station.

SRM posted and BW posted, both appearing to know the family.
BW is friends with Dylan on facebook, so she checks out as knowing him.

If you are SURE it's his facebook you can post it.
I am 100% sure this is Dylan's facebook.
He has a distinct look and the pictures and family members names match.
Last post I see was 7:49pm on Saturday.
(I am in the same time zone, remember facebook shows times in your time zone.)

https://www.facebook.com/dylan.parker.58

If you found another one you are sure is him, you can post it.

I see nothing alarming on his facebook, all pretty normal stuff for his age.
Important to remember that a lot of people don't portray their true self on facebook, trying to be cool.

Yep, that's the one I found as well.

Especially when I'm trying to look up a profile for a missing person, and also just in general, I always add a city or state the person is from to the end of my search (ex. John Smith Michigan) and I can usually find who I'm looking for

Okay, I posted it because the sisters name matched the comments and the pictures were clearly him.
Sometimes I'm not sure so I don't post it.
Fortunately for us this kid has a unique look to make up for his common name, so we are still able to be sure.

I wonder if he was drinking that night...
That seems to be the common thread in missing teen/young adult males.

Thank you! I used to be able to look it up before they changed the format on FB about a year or two ago. But not since. That was smart of you to figure that out. I would have never guessed that's how it works now.

That would be terrible if he wandered off. Sure hope not! Seems like many guys have done that. But the clerk seems to think that he got into that car. Either way doesn't look great.

Hopefully, he got into a car with friends and spent Sunday sleeping off a bender. Sounds worrisome though, I hope he's found quickly and is ok.

Just a note, I think the missing date should be the 12th. The 13th was yesterday, Monday. Sounds like he went missing early a.m. on Sunday which would be the 12th.

(Last article listed right above me also says the 12th.)

Hoping he turns up soon.

Some of the facebook commentary leads me to think the article has gotten it wrong - that he was seen getting into the car with the couple BEFORE he called his mother - that is, earlier in the evening. That makes all the difference in the world. To me, when I hear a young man got in the car with a couple, I assume he's safe somewhere.

No one apparently knows how he vanished from the place his mother was coming to pick him up.

I am hoping it was a mix up too but why did his phone go directly to voicemail, especially after calling his mom assuming the article is right? I always have my phone on after calling someone while waiting for them to show up in case there was a miscommunication or someone get's lost, which doesn't seem to be the case. Please come home safe! I am hopeful he went to one of his friend's house.

Osburn is relatively small with just over 1,500 citizens.
http://www.city-data.com/city/Osburn-Idaho.html

Dylan lives in Kellogg which is only a few minutes away from Osburn. Both towns are right on I-90. There is a lovely ski resort in Kellogg. I use to pass by these towns on the way to Montana as a kid. We always would stop in at Wallace, Idaho for a break which is just a further down on I-90. Pretty area.

After reading the comments, there appears to be some confusion on the facts. Someone mentions that the gas station listed is wrong. These are important facts and I hope that someone tells the public which version is correct.

Here is another interesting FB post from Shoshone County Sheriff Office FB page. Their details match the news link. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...&stream_ref=10
There are comments with differing details so for now I will assume, because comments are rumor, that the Sheriff Office has it right. I hope they fix any wrong details, if there are any, so that people can help find Dylan.

This has really gotten too confusing. He was or was not calling from the gas station, he was walking to meet his mother halfway as she went to the gas station, or he was walking 2 miles from the party to the gas station to meet his mother, etc. How in the world can they figure out where to search for this young man if he could be anywhere within a 2 mile radius when he became missing?
