Deceased/Not Found CA - Bryan Thorne, 17, Brea, 13 Jan 1998 *R. Marquez guilty*

Pomona Superior Court Judge Robert Martinez imposed the sentence on Robert Anthony Marquez, who was convicted June 3 of first- degree murder for the January 1998 stabbing death of Bryan Thorne, 17.

Marquez and Thorne had gone with a group of Thorne's classmates from Brea Canyon High School to see a taping of the TV show "3rd Rock From The Sun." They later went to the home of Marquez's grandparents in Rowland Heights, where the stabbing occurred, authorities said.

The teen's body has not been found, and investigators were unsure of the motive for the killing.
