CA - Desariee "Scout Taylor" Compton, 16, Apple Valley, 12 Aug 2005 - Teen actress
We had a neighborhood block party over the weekend and my neighbor's son is a child actor - she mentioned that one of the teen actresses "Scout Taylor-Compton" was missing from California. She also mentioned that a banner had been placed on the site - "youngstarnews.com". I checked it out and there is a blurb -
NEWS ALERT: 16-year-old actress Desariee "Scout Taylor-" Compton is missing. She's been missing since August 12, 2005, from the Apple Valley, CA area. Scout's family is asking for help in finding her. Anyone having information should contact the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678 (1-800-THE-LOST). More details here. Folks in the Los Angeles and Southern California area can download and print a poster here and post it in your area.
I am surprised that this hasn't been on the news or something. Does anyone know anything?

I am wondering why there are no news reports about it.
I looked her up on IMDB and she has done a lot of TV work....
Gilmore Girls, Ally McBeal etc.
If you find any links to her disappearance, please post them.

The poster says "endangered runaway"....hmmm. She's a pretty girl...I also looked her up on IMDB and she was in the movie "Sleepover"...my daughter loves that movie. Prayers for her safe return!

She is young, beautiful and on her way to being famous....
Why would she run away? Even if she did run way, she could
be in danger.
Very weird.

I can't either unless perhaps they know who she may be with. There's not much up in Apple Valley except for a lot of Yucca trees, rocks and in general a hot high desert town.
I'm wondering if she was staying with someone up there or what? Our local papers would carry the news as it's in our county, but so far not a word of it in the papers or on T.V.

Not sure if this is accurate or not: I heard on our local radio station about 20 minutes ago that she had been staying at a friends house after having an argument with family members. Sorry no link, only heard it on the radio.

It may have been for publicity, but think if it were she would have made it more of a dramatic disappearance.
I think she is just used to doing what she wants, got pissed and left. I read where she is Home Schooled via the internet so she has a lot of free time to be any other than a student during the day.

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Teen actress Scout Taylor-Compton, who disappeared from her home more than two weeks ago, has been found at a friend's house, police said on Thursday.
Taylor-Compton, 16, star of the 2004 teen comedy "Sleepover," was last seen at her home in the Southern California community of Apple Valley on August 12 and was considered a runaway.
"We received a tip from the Apple Valley School Police that she was at a house in Apple Valley," San Bernardino County Sheriff's spokeswoman Robin Haynal said. "We sent a deputy over there, picked her up and took her to the station."

Well, it appears that maybe she is now going to public school from the article. At one point she was taking classes with Laurel Springs School which a lot of celeb kids do if they're unable to attend a day time school.
This is the link I had read an interview with Scout, but it's no longer on there. She had mentioned that she had also attended regular school along with being home schooled/independent study. Anyway, don't know what happened to the article as all it shows now is her photo in 2003.

This article claims she slept in a playground and made friends with a local family who allowed her to move into their home. She supposedly already graduated from high school.

She mentions running away in People Magazine... and on TMZ.com today:
