The fate of a 42-year-old man who kidnapped, molested and killed his 9-year-old neighbor is in the hands of a jury.

Manuel Bracamontes was convicted earlier this month of kidnapping, sexual assault and first-degree murder with special circumstance allegations in the June 1991 death of Laura Arroyo. The victim disappeared from her San Diego home one night, and her bloodied body was discovered the next morning on a sidewalk in front of a business complex three miles away.

I only hope that the family now feels a little comfort knowing that this case has finally reached a closure and that the man who so brutally acted upon their little daughter won't get the chance to do so with any other victims, ever again. So sad, so tragic .
