A 65-year-old woman was assaulted early Sunday when she went to answer a knock at her front door, thinking it was her roommate.
According to the woman, she saw a man in a hooded black jacket with red stripes standing on her front porch. When she opened her door, the man sprayed her in the eyes, causing her to lose vision temporarily, she said.
The man hit her in the head, knocking her down on the stairs and began beating her."
I think he wanted to knock me out and God knows what else he would have done," she told 7News. The woman received nine stitches in her scalp.
She also injured her hand as she fought the man off.
"Damn right I did," she said.
