FL - Altoona (Lake Dorr), WhtFem 126UFFL, 17-20, "Here Comes Trouble" TShirt, Apr'84
She had reddish brown hair and weighed about 100 pounds.
Her petite frame was dressed in a black T-shirt with "Here Comes Trouble" on the front and a nightshirt with "Have You Kissed Your Child Tonite?"
For 21 years, no one has known her name, why she was slain and who left her in the Ocala National Forest near Lake Dorr north of Umatilla.
Lake County investigators suspect an admitted serial killer serving life in an Arkansas prison may know something about the case.
But Michael Ronning, 48, isn't talking.
The case goes back to April 18, 1984, when a man found the woman's remains in the Lake Dorr recreation area in the national forest. She had been dead for two to four weeks, and animals had scattered her remains.
A break in the case came almost 18 years later when the news show Dateline NBC did a story about Ronning in February 2002.
In Dateline's research, the producers found a traffic ticket that was issued April 17, 1984, to Ronning by Umatilla police for not having a valid drivers license. The show alerted Lake detectives about its findings and asked if they had any unsolved homicides.
That's when Lake County investigators first heard about Ronning and began investigating.

I'm not at all happy with this match... Leslie is 3" taller, 4 years older was from California, and abducted in January... if it is her, maybe someone else abducted her, kept her for a bit, then brought her to Florida? ...or not

Ok I have problems with this match too. Terrie is 3" taller, she was possibly travelling to Louisianna... so Florida is not that far off. It doesn't leave much time though between the disappearance on April 1st and finding the body April 14th - it this is Terrie she would have had to have been killed almost immediately.
Jane Doe doesn't have any mention of a chipped tooth (although she may have one but its just not mentioned). Finally Terrie is listed as a Blonde, but both photos on the Doe Network show DARK hair??????

I have some trouble with the lips and chin on the reconstruction number 2. They just don't look right. I wonder if the calculations were correct on that.

Joyce was last seen in January, which gives her lots of time to go to Florida from California. She's 1 year older than the estimate, and 3 inches taller. There is no mention of a tattoo on Jane Doe, unfortunately it may have been on a part of the body that was no longer visible.
Although it is a really bad photo of Joyce it does match the sketch really well.

Wow, that sketch is almost a dead ringer for McDowell. The only difference I see is the lips. And like I said, I don't think in the reconstruct that the lips look right, like maybe the calculations are a bit off. It is less noticable in the sketch.

Lisa Marie would have been 17 years old in 1984. She is listed as having red hair - so the reddish brown description for Jane Doe matches. I think the faces really match. Problem is Lisa Marie is listed as 5'8" which is 6 inches taller than Jane Doe!

Jane Doe on left, Lisa Marie Sexton on right

Sally was last seen in February so she'd have enough time to travel to Florida, from California. She's 6 years older than the estimated age, and 2" taller.

It might just be the photo of Kimberley but I thought she looked a lot like the sketch. She disappeared a full year before though. She is 1" shorter and two years older than the estimated age. Also she would have had to travel from Maryland to Florida.

The fact that she was dressed in a t shirt and nightshirt is a little confusing.
But the night shirt makes me think she was either abducted from home at night, or she was homeless.
Ronnings pattern seems to have been to abduct the women and take them back to his "comfort zone" somewhere in the woods near his homes. There isn't enough info in the article to show any patterns about where he abducts them. The article posted in the crime news may show more. I will check it.

Melissa Jackson, 16, who disappeared from a Grand Prairie apartment building in Aug. 12, 1983.
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcont....10c08aa3.html
No mention on the others, of where he abducted them from. I would guess though that since his pattern of dumping is so strong, that probably his pattern of abduction would also be similiar.

Josephine fits the profile almost exactly.... except she disappeared from Oklahoma 6 months before Jane Doe was found in Florida.

I'm going to stop here for now....
I originally thought I wouldn't find many matches to the composite - wow was I wrong... I could actually continue as there are more... but no exact matches.
I agree about the clothing... it seems that it was very casual attire.....

One more thing... there are 2 people on the Doe Network that are listed as missing from Ocala National Forest, plus our Jane Doe and a John Doe.... oddly enough 2 of the people have the same face shape (specifically the chin) as Jane Doe.

Number 1 2 3 4
Photo #1
Unidentified Man, suicide, 1997
http://www.doenetwork.us/cases/281umfl.html
Photo #2
Unidentified Jane Doe, Homicide, 1984
http://www.doenetwork.us/cases/126uffl.html
Photo #3
Pamela Ann Nater
Missing since October 2, 1966, Disappearance
http://www.doenetwork.us/cases/1497dffl.html
Photo #4
Nancy Leichner
Missing since October 2, 1966, Disappearance
http://www.doenetwork.us/cases/1498dffl.html
**Note Nancy's face doesn't match the shape, she disappeared with Pamela Ann Nater.
... don't know what it means. Maybe nothing, just coincidence.

Both the sketch and the reconstruction show a broad chin, and heavy or broad jawline. I wonder how close the age estimate is. I have noticed that the jawline seems to get heavier with time, I wonder if this woman could be older than the estimated age. I know they check the growth plates on the skeleton to estimate the age, but there are always the persons who fall outside the standard specs. She was somewhat short, so maybe she was a late bloomer who hadn't had her final growth spurt yet.

FL - Altoona - Female 126UFFL, 1984 - "Here Comes Trouble" shirt
I also asked if this could be a possible match to Lisa Marie Sexton which is in the cold case thread but didn't get a response from anyone. I figured I would move it here.

Circumstances of Disappearance
Sexton left her Ohio home on May 1, 1981 with her boyfriend, a known drug dealer. He later returned without her and is since deceased. Sexton was last known to be in Tampa, Florida and may have traveled to Mexico. Her mother told authorities that she last heard from her daughter in 1984.
Lisa's mom last spoke with her in 1984 - UID was found in April 1984/ UID Time of Death was 2-4 wks prior
Last known to be in Tampa Florida, UID was found in Altoona FL (which is about a two hr drive)
Look at the hair part to Lisa and the UID... I think it looks the same...
In 1984 Lisa would have been 17 - The UID is listed to be between 17-20 yr old - Hair color matches up also (or close)
The only thing that makes me wonder is the height. Lisa's height is listed at
5'8, The UID on The Doe Network is listed at 5" - 5'1 and the UID on Namus is listed at 5'6 and it is estimated...
Please Give me feedback! I would really appreciate it!

I definitely see some similarity between the reconstruction of the UID and Lisa. The boyfriend's ties to Florida are also interesting.
I think it would be worth finding out if these two were ever compared.
I noticed on the Doe Network page they list Lisa's height as 5'8" & then as 173 cm. I plugged 173 cm into an online coversion thingie and it converted to 5.6758530184 feet. That's less than 5'8".
The height inconsistencies through all reports make me think you can't rely on the height as the decider here.

I agree with the height issue too..
I am going to contact the person listed on the Namus site to see if they were compared before.
Let you know if I hear anything back!

I received an email back from Dona Faber from Marion County who is in charge of this case:
Dear Janell- I spoke with the Lake County Sheriff’s office in reference to your e-mail and connection to Lisa Sexton and I was advised by Assistant Inv. Lynn DeWitt that this person and the unknown had already been compared and it was not a match.
Thanks and sorry,
Dona
Man, who are all these unidentified people and where are all these missing people???

Fresh link to UID (archived DOE Network)
http://web.archive.org/web/200610070...s/126uffl.html
4 reconstruction pic boxes with red "x", were there ever any there?
This is when I wish the pic's were just copied and pasted to here.
So many broken links, sad.
