Remains Could Be 10 Years Old

The medical examiner confirmed the skull belonged to an adolescent and has probably been in the field for five to 10 years.Texas EquuSearch began looking for more remains and clues about the person's identity."We know we do have some young girls that have been missing for quite some time real close to this area," said Tim Miller with Texas EquuSearch.

thanks for that link about the I45 killings. I knew there were a lot of girls missing from that area, but I had no idea there were THAT many!

How can there be no news on this? A skull was found in an area where many young girls have gone missing and no identification has been made?

I'm in the Houston area and this is the first I've heard of this. Jessica Cain is the first one that came to mind and it surprises me that there hasn't been anything on the news.

For more than a century, people have been buried in the Alta Loma cemetery. But when a human skull was discovered near the edge of a nearby wooded area, investigators had to explore the possibility of foul play.

"We want to look for clothes," Tim Miller with Texas Equusearch instructed volunteers. "We need to realize any bones are going to blend in with the ground."

Two teens disappeared years ago about a mile away. Their bodies were never found.

"We got one girl, Michelle Thomas, she lived probably a half a mile from here," Miller said. "Then Sandra Ramas lived probably a mile and a half from here."

This UID is not in Namus or Doe network.

Investigators have yet to rule out the possibility the skull could have been unearthed from the cemetery and carried away.

"This cemetery was established in 1897," said Sgt. John Putnam with the Galveston County Sheriff's Office. "So they've had some crypts over a period of time that have deteriorated to the point where bones were exposed and they had to go in and repair them."
