Date Of Birth: June 24, 1958
Age: 13 years old
Height and Weight: 4'5 - 4'6, 85 - 91 pounds
Distinguishing Characteristics: Light brown hair, blue eyes. Wesolowski has a scar on her abdomen and another on her chest. Her teeth were crooked at the time of her 1971 disappearance. Some agencies give Wesolowski's name "Mary Ann" or "Maryanne."
Clothing Description: A white t-shirt, red and white shorts, and a black leather belt.

Details of Disappearance

Wesolowski was last seen on August 8, 1971 in her hometown of Glens Falls, New York. She was en route to meet friends to go swimming at the time of her disappearance. She has never been heard from again. Few details are available in her case; she is missing under unknown circumstances.

Did she make it to the swimming pool?! i read somewhere that she was dropped off by either her mother or step-father half-way to her friends house, and later her friends mother rung them up wondering why she hadn't turned up to met them

I see alot of simularities, age is close, blue eyes are bright.

It is possible that she was abducted or went with someone and was forced into prostitution which could explain the 2 year gap from when she disapeared to when other other was killed.

I know this is a long shot, BUT, I have always thought that Mary Anne has similar features to an unidentified woman found in Texas in 1979. The age would fit, but the hair and eye color are off. but the low set eyebrows, wide set eyes, full nose, and the shape of the mouth all are similar in my opinion...

Glens Falls Police are hoping some new attention can help solve the disappearance 41 years ago of a 13-year-old girl.

The Glens Falls Police Department recently had the State Police “cold case squad” review the file of Mary Anne Wesolowski, who disappeared Aug. 18, 1971, when walking from her home on Broad Street to Haviland Cove to meet friends to go swimming.

The department also had the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children update a poster for Wesolowski to show what she might look like at age 53 if she is still alive.

Action in the case came after police received a tip several months ago that a woman in a group home in another state resembled a digitally enhanced image of what Wesolowski might look like today.

Glens Falls Police Detective Sgt. Peter Casertino said police looked into that claim and determined the person was not Wesolowski.

FYI... Haviland Cove is a picnic/public beach area along the Hudson River. I don't believe that there is a swimming pool there.

I absolutely feel this could be a match. There are only 2 exclusions listed on Namus for this Jane Doe. Mary Anne is not listed. Maybe this should be submitted....

I wonder if the reconstruction photo is showing Jane Doe's teeth accurately? They look different in both of the pics in NamUs to me?

One photo shows the broken tooth and the other shows it before it was broken -- because they don't know whether it was broken before she got hit by the car.

The tooth may have been chipped from the car hitting her. I would'nt mind submitting it, although I have never done this before. Is there a guideline I should follow in order to not be viewed as a crazy by the police?

I typically have better luck with the Medical Examiners office. I personally would start there 1st.
