CRIME: 13 killings in 2006 chip away at Vermont’s sense of security
Crime assaulted Vermont with a new ferocity this year.
The number of murders climbed to the highest level since 2003, and two incidents of shocking violence and random killing within six weeks shook the state and rattled the collective psyche of its residents.
Crime is so wide spread now that places where people once felt safe are no more. IMO it no longer matters what state you live in or if it's a small town. All the terrible crimes that used to just seem t happen in the big city are now happening next door.
