Oh, no. How sad, I thought that he was doing well. But he was a private person and never spoke much about it at least not that I heard. He will be greatly missed he was one of the good guys. I grew up watching racing with my Dad and remember BP from way back.

Yea, I thought he was doing well too - in fact, in October he announced that he was in remission but it looks like one of his lungs was deeply damaged and that is what got him, complications from lung Cancer.

I had a feeling the end was near. Several months ago I saw something in his eyes. I once read the views of a physician that when that look is there they will not live out the year. I have noticed that in other people as well. It is though the energy is just gradually slipping away. I saw that in Jack Lemmon's eyes before he died and I saw it in John Houseman's eyes as well. I'm no medical expert but thus far it seems to have proven true. Maybe someone here with a medical background can opine on this subject.
