I hope that this man is found right away. I wonder who he was supposed to be with or if he just took off from where ever he was living. There should be an Amber Alert out for him. He is no different then an 8 yr old out alone and wandering and anyone could take advantage of him.

I wonder if he had a preoccupation with airplanes? Or if he just lived nearby. He might be obsessed with airplanes and went to check them out.
I hope he is found safe soon.

Thank you, mistivon. I'm so glad to hear a good ending for once!
I imagine it's hard to stop a 23 yr old "man" from storming off in anger. Our little girl is about 55 lbs and it's hard for me to control her when needed.

This is my biggest fear...one of my boys with autism wanders off. Thank God he was found. No one understands how difficult it is to live with little ones that just decide to leave...and it appears it never ends...

We've considered buying something with GPS or some type of locater for our daughter to wear...but for now we just keep alarms on the doors and keep her close. It's scary to think what could happen.

fivekidz...my boy is almost 9 now and it hasnt ended for us but I can say it has gotten better. ALOT of repetative talking and rule laying but we have to do it for his own good. When I read stories like this I feel sick to my stomach and almost like a feeling of dread comes over me because it is something that parents of Autistic children fear everyday.

Thank God he was found. It must be hard to have to constantly watch your children. I hope that none of you ever have to go through a nightmare like this and if you do I hope that you have a happy ending too.

I have worked hard on safety drills/social stories for years. Now that they have gotten older (11,11,12) and more language-they don't "run" like they used to. When I hear stories like this, it reminds me to stay on guard-not forget!

Thanks, bobbisangel. I'm so happy for this mother! I wonder if there's a father in the picture to help her out....
fivekidz4me-can you give me an idea of what your social stories and drills consist of? I'm not sure my daughter would understand this, but if you wouldn't mind I'd like to know what you do... my email is good if you wouldn't mind that way. TIA!
