Wow, that's quite a coincidence. Her cousin says she's 21, and I haven't seen anything about a daughter either.

Canton is about 4 hrs by highway north of Portsmouth. I'm not sure where "Will's Point" is.

It very well could be though.

I'm sure confused though. She was life-flighted to Children's Medical in Dallas? From Canton? We have a great trauma hospital in Cleveland-just a short distance away.

I think I need more coffee!

You don't need more coffee.... well not for this anyway.... this accident happened in Canton, Texas.

(See the upper right hand corner of the newspaper)

Probably not the same woman then.

Strange, she's been missing since the 10th. Maybe she went to Texas. What are the details on her car, etc.?

I really doubt this is the same woman. For one, the ages aren't the same and there was no mention of the missing woman having a 2 year old daughter. I'm sure if they went missing together it would have been mentioned. I know at least five men with the same first, middle and last names as my husband's uncle. It does happen.
But, it's also worth giving the details another look (not that I have time right now.... lol).

I think the article would have mentioned that she was pregnant, right? Just thoughts.

There isn't much to go on in the article, I certainly hope the community is setting up fliers/posters. Is there a way we can get this more national attention in the news?

Taxi, I am not convinced these are the same girls as mentioned above.

Portsmouth Police need your help in trying to find a missing woman. Amber Howard, who's 21 years old and more than seven months pregnant, literally, vanished eight weeks ago.

Detective Jim Charles says, "My job is to find Amber. The family has entrusted me in finding their daughter and granddaughter and I won't stop until I find her."

"My heart's broken," cries Amber's grandmother, Bonnie Bertram.
"When you go out searching and you're looking at some of these places, hoping you're not going to find her there. Then there's the chance she could be there, that's the hard part" Mrs. Bertram last saw her granddaughter on August 10th. Amber's family is rallying together to have t-shirts and signs made to call attention to her disappearance. They're also working on establishing a reward fund through a local bank.

Amber also has a son, who's almost two years old. Anyone with information is urged to call the Portsmouth Police Department at
740-353-4101.

I wonder if there is a man in this picture. There must have been at some point as she is pregnant. It doesn't seem like this gal would just take off and leave her little boy behind and not contact her family. She is another pregnant woman that has just vanished into thin air. I would sure be looking at any guys she was involved with. Maybe another daddy didn't want to pay child support.

makes me wonder

I think the name must be a commonly used name and that makes finding info about the right person more difficult.

I saw this report of a warrant from an Ohio Sheriff and since
the missing person is from Portsmouth, Ohio it made me wonder if this might have something to do with her disappearance.

There are at least 267 "Amber Howard" in the US (census). Nicole is a common middle name- and it flows with the name...

This cannot be her... and the most likely ran this accident victim- she would have popped up as missing.

Vigil being held. It has been 6 months since her disappearance.

Ya know, I am getting old and forgetful. But it seems to me that there are one or two more missing women in the Portsmouth area with similar type history's. But I can't remember their names. I believe one was missing earlier then her cousin or niece or some relative went missing years later.

I found it: http://websleuths.com/forums/showthr...ght=portsmouth

Angela Holsinger went missing 2002. Her sister Tina isn't missing, she was murdered in 1995.

I don't know if this is related. But they have come up with a possible serial killer in the area who allegedly has admitted to three murders. Names of the victims have not been given yet.

What a sad ending to a tragic story. I hope they are able to find who is responsible for this senseless death quickly, and justice is served for Amber and her baby.
