Officers were dispatched to the neighborhood about 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday after several people called, saying they heard a woman screaming from the area of the beach.

The woman, who police described as a transient, told the officers that she had "no reason" for screaming and was not in danger.


Police said they notified Berkeley authorities that the woman was located.
