Yahoo! News says that he had a massage appointment this afternoon at his apartment and when she arrived is when he was found dead. Doesn't sound like someone contemplating suicide, but who knows?
What a shock. Lord be with his daughter and maye he RIP.

I DON'T THINK SO EITHER.
and they were OTC sleeping pills. this is retarded. it doesn't sound like a suicide to me. sounds like something else happened... maybe something health wise?

From the AP via Yahoo.com:
AP -NEW YORK - Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at a downtown Manhattan apartment, and police said drugs may have been a factor. The Australian-born actor was 28. Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the residence in the tony SoHo neighborhood, NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said. A housekeeper who went to let him know the massage therapist had arrived found him dead at 3:26 p.m.

She wasn't arrested, but someone at a party at her house this weekend took pics of her smoking crack and snorting x and cocaine. A british newspaper published the pics on Monday and she went to rehab on Tuesday.

Did you know the LA Times already has an obituary wrote up for Brittney Spears. They said they usually do that for elderly celebs but that her behavior has been so outrageous they want to be prepared. How SAD! I think the drugs are just rampid in Hollywood and out of control.

I remember that well, he died on the street outside a club, I forget whom owned the club, someone else famous, I have a name in mind but I don't want to misspeak. His sister is married to Casey Affleck (Ben's Bro). They just had their second son together.

I think it was an accidental overdose. However, I still don't believe that he has been clean for a year. I guess the autopsy results will tell all.

This is absolutely tragic and such a waste. I am very upset about this...this isn't your usual celebrity death at all. When I was 14, an actress I liked a lot was murdered (actress Dominique Dunne from "Poltergeist") and then when I was 21, Rebecca Schaeffer, another favorite of mine, was also murdered. Those two deaths stayed with me for a long time....this one will affect my daughter in the same way...he was an idol of hers.

GOBSMACKED.

I read that The Dark Knight is in post-production and usually they need to bring back the actors to record additional dialogue. Reminds me of the time Brandon Lee was killed during the production of The Crow and how they had to resort to CGI and doubles to finish certain scenes. Heath's other flick, "the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" will probably need to be recast or abandoned entirely (such is the Terry Gilliam curse).
