A 77-year-old man from Jefferson, York County, has been reported as missing and endangered by the state police at York.

John Gene Haggerty of the first block of Lakeview Drive packed a small bag and left his home Jan. 24 and has not been heard from since.

Haggerty has been ordered by his doctor not to drive, but he reportedly left his home in his cranberry-colored 1992 Chrysler 5th Avenue New Yorker, police said. The Maryland license plate is 4DNK22.

Haggerty is described as 5'3", about 180 pounds with white hair and large-framed glasses. He is clean-shaven and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue jacket with sheep's wool lining and an orange hunting baseball hat.
He walks with a cane.

Anyone who sees Haggerty or his vehicle is asked to call the state police at York at 717-428-1011.

Days later, he was found unharmed at a gas station near Fredericksburg, Va., police said. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office found Haggerty on Sunday morning, about two days after his family reported him missing, state police said.
"I'm glad to be home," Haggerty said Sunday afternoon.
