Distinguishing Characteristics: Caucasian female. Blonde hair, blue eyes. Cutshall's teeth are crooked. She has a two-inch vertical scar on the crown of her head and a horizontal scar on her right upper lip. Her nickname is Jill.
Clothing/Jewelry Description: A purple shirt, jeans and white Nike tennis shoes.

Details of Disappearance

Cutshall was last seen at approximately 6:30 a.m. on August 13, 1987 in her hometown of Norfolk, Nebraska. She was walking to her babysitter's residence, which was approximately four blocks from her family's home. Cutshall never arrived and has not been seen again.


Three months after Cutshall's disappearance, her clothes were found in a wooded area in Stanton, Nebraska, ten miles from her home. David Phelps was convicted of kidnapping with intent to commit sexual assault in Cutshall's case and is currently serving life in prison. Cutshall has never been located, but after Phelps's conviction she was declared legally dead.
