CO - Kenneth Anthony "Tony" Chacon, 53, Montrose, 5 March 2005
Vital Statistics at Time of DisappearanceMissing Since: March 5, 2005 from Montrose, Colorado
Classification: Endangered Missing
Date Of Birth: January 1, 1952
Age: 53 years old
Height and Weight: 5'6 - 5'8, 140 - 180 pounds
Distinguishing Characteristics: Hispanic male. Black hair, brown eyes. Chacon's hair was turning white in 2005, and he usually wore it pulled back into a long braid. His nickname is Tony. He wears wire-framed eyeglasses.
Clothing/Jewelry Description: Possibly a white t-shirt, jeans, and a baseball cap worn backwards.
Details of DisappearanceChacon was last seen between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. on March 5, 2005 at his residence in the vicinity of the 300 block of west Main Street in Montrose, Colorado. He has never been heard from again. Chacon was reported missing after he did not show up for work at the Russell Stover candy factory, which is uncharacteristic of him. All of Chacon's personal belongings were left behind at his home, including his new Kia. His family stated he is a reliable worker who had held the candy factory job for 15 years, and had no known history of mental or financial problems. He had paid off his home just prior to his disappearance. Although there is no evidence of foul play in his case, he has never left without warning before and authorities are calling his disappearance suspicious.

Two More Cold Cases Leave Families In Limbo
The MPD continues to actively work the Chacon case, which is barely old enough for consideration by the CBI’s cold case analysis project, but which is listed with Families of Homicide Victims and Missing Persons.
Chacon was 49 when he failed to show up for his shift at Russell Stover Candy, which was out of character. He was not at his home on West Main Street, though his new car and all discernible personal items were, undisturbed. As of last report, there’s been no evidence of financial transactions on his part, or in his name — or any other sign.
The disappearance was characterized as suspicious. Chacon’s family members previously told the Daily Press something was “wrong” and it wasn’t like him to “just give up everything.” They also said he didn’t seem to have any enemies and that he was planning to visit extended family.
They pleaded for anyone with information to contact authorities.

Where’s Tony?
For five years, the family of Kenneth “Tony” Chacon has watched and waited, hoping to find the missing Montrose candy factory worker.
“The only thing that’s changed is detectives, but everyone is coming up with the same answer. Nobody knows,” said Chris Salazar, Chacon’s half-brother.
“The not knowing is the hard part. Birthdays have passed by; nephews and nieces have been born that he hasn’t met yet. We’re just waiting for the day that we find out something.”
