Found Safe OH - AMBER ALERT: Laura E. Lenz, 16, Sylvania Township, 11 April 2008

The Lucas County Sheriff's Office has issued an Amber Alert for an abducted child in Sylvania Township.

Sylvania Township Police are looking for 16-year-old Laura E. Lenz.

Laura is a white female, 5'6" and 150 lbs with brown eyes and brown hair. She was last seen around 6:45 a.m. Friday in Sylvania. She is said to have been abducted by a non-custodial mother, Jennifer Lenz.

Laura is believed to be in extreme danger . She was last seen wearing jeans, a down-filled turquoise coat and white tennis shoes with pink shoe laces.

Authorities say Jennifer may be driving a 2000 white Honda CRV with tags DYD8649.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sylvania Township Police Department at 419-882-2055.

This is ridiculous. Why would the mother kidnap the sixteen year old and why would she be in danger.

The mother is a sociopath.

The mother is suicidal.

The mother is homicidal.

The mother is high.

The mother is known to be violent.

The mother is a child abuser.

The mother has threatened the daughter in the past.

The mother associates with nasty, criminal types.

The mother husband or boyfriend is a registered sex offender.

The girls age could certainly benefit her in escaping. At her age she could have willingly decided to have her mom as custodial parent but obviously did not.
Mom maybe nutty as all get out and thinking her daughter is dating and is better off dead for all we know.
I hope this young one finds a way to get away using her smarts.

I kind of assumed that at 16 she would have gone willingly, but unfortunately that doesn't mean she's safe. Thanks for sharing the link, Barbie.

They canceled the alert- stating that it no longer fits the criteria... Interesting though... the following article states that the vehicle is a stolen vehicle:

Sylvania Township police confirm they were contacted by authorities in Columbus, Ga., in reference to the recovery of a 16-year-old.

The teen turned herself in to a Columbus, Ga., hospital after allegedly spending the past five days with her non-custodial mother, Jennifer Lenz. The teen says they traveled throughout the southeast to avoid apprehension.
