Anybody know if this Shell station has an ATM? If so, does it allow withdrawals in multiples of $10???

I just talked to a guy at the Shell on Elliott and they do have an ATM. He said it only dispenses 20's.

Thank you, SM. So, now the Safeway is out and so is the Shell station as far as ATM's because they both dispense in increments of $20...

What else is close enough (locals...????)

There are SOOO many places. This is downtown Seattle. Like looking for a needle in a haystack without some way to go.

I do find it interesting about the Shell Station. That is North of his work. He would have went South if he was heading home.

ETA.. And you are welcome! =)

I imagine it would be difficult to pinpoint an exact location without much to go on except the 3 minute time frame. We also know the withdrawal was $50 so it has to be an ATM that dispenses in $10 increments.

HMMM.... do you know what else may be North of Publicis and fall within a 3 minute drive? Do we know that he did drive to this location? Is it possible he walked?

I was also wondering if any of the locals may have driven the route just to see where you might end up at 6:13 p.m.?

The Shell station seems to be about a minute away. The WS is 3 minutes away.. that is not taking into account traffic at that time of night. I am stumped.

There is so much around there. His work was right behind Key Arena and the Seattle Center with the Space Needle is right there with Key Arena. It is downtown Seattle.. there is just so many places you could go to from Publicis.

I still think him going north is significant tho. He wouldn't have gone that way to get home.. since his home is south.

How reliable is the Shell sighting? I don't remember if that had been confirmed somewhere or not.

As far as being confirmed that he was there, I'm not sure. I also wonder about the Burien storage place. Is that South too?

O/T BTW ~ imnotheonlyone! I actually visited the CASA site and signed up. Always looking for ways to give back and didn't know every day people could actually do that. The next training isn't until September tho.
SadlyMistaken - I'm so happy to hear that! I believe that you will find it very rewarding - there are so many children out there whose voices need to be heard and in the court system today, that is often impossible without advocates and people who truly wish to make a difference! You may be able to sign up for training in a nearby County as well - and it should be at no cost to you, as a CASA (if a person is taking the training to become a paid Guardian Ad Litem, the classes cost a couple of hundred dollars).

The reason why I thought it was the one on Denny since that would have been on his way out of Publicis to get to the viaduct. But, if he did happen to be going to the Wet Spot, then it makes more sense now why he'd go to that one on Elliot.

If he indeed go to the Safeway, that station on Elliott wouldn't be out of the way at all, and he could easily make a left out of it with the light and head south to the Viaduct. Or he could more easily go right to the other place. That's such a madhouse area at that time ... I can't even imagine anyone paying attention and making a call to LE about seeing him there. But its a pretty distinctive little car he was driving.

None of this has ever been confirmed, including going to Costco. Unless he was on fumes, he'd save money at the Costco if he bought gas there. Wonder why he'd stop at the Shell, gas is more expensive in Seattle proper.

With two little kids and a pregnant wife, would you let your car get that low on gas? I'm kind of obsessive about that, so its out of my mindset. Just thinking out loud.

OK, I'm back...my little hiatus didn't last long

If he were heading from his work to the Wet Spot, the Shell station would definitely be right along the way, and in fact the only place I can think of along there that would have an ATM. I don't think it was ever reported that anyone saw him buying gas; only that he was seen at the Shell station. He could have just pulled in there knowing they had an ATM and need cash to get into the WS?

But another thing I am thinking is with traffic the way it is (bad) and he was last seen on foot at 6:10 PM - it wouldn't be likely IMO that he could even make it to the Shell station in 3 minutes. Possible, but not likely IMO.

There's a Bank of America on Mercer near his work.....do we have anyway to determine who charges $4 to use their ATM? Or would this be a PayPal fee combined with the ATM fee?

Hi SeattleGuy. Welcome back.

At this point I am thinking maybe he did take the money out at the wetspot. I just can't figure out why it hasn't been said where he took it out at. Seems like a pretty normal activity. So, I am thinking that they have a reason for not saying. That with the fact that LE has asked the family not to talk about things.. also leads me to think this. If he was last seen at the wetspot and took money out there then that may be their only lead and don't want too many people investigating it and spooking their members who may not want people knowing about their activities.

I called the Shell on Elliott and their ATM only dispenses 20's.

I wonder about B of A.. I bank with them and at my bank it only gives 20's but IIRC I have been to others that had 10's but I could be wrong.. might have been another bank.

The time the co-worker reported seeing him last could be a guesstimation.

Also, from what I understand paypal charges a fee of $1.00 for ATM withdrawals. Plus, there is a fee from the ATM.

Could be Bank of America then...it is very close to his work.

According to their websites, Bank of America charges $3 and PayPal charges $1 more = $4 total.

Bank of America - $3:
http://www.usatoday.com/money/indust...atm-fees_N.htm

PayPal - $1:
http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr...de#fees-policy

Here's a map with the proximity of Publicis and B of A. NF did say he was headed "up there" which would be north on the map and up hill.

I actually found a BOFA atm a block a way from his work to the south. Not a bank tho, I don't think. Must be just an ATM... maybe in a store?

I hope this actually works. This google map has a picture posted over where Key Arena is.. looking to the west and north a little.. right where Publicis is located in reference to Key Arena. Just to show how much stuff is there.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...,0.019612&z=16

ok.. you have to hit the right arrow once or the pictures over Key Arena don't show up!

We have been told tho that he didn't take Mercer St. to get to the freeway.. because he didn't typically take I5 home. I don't remember the exact roads but Elliott to south.

If that is true then the bofa on Mercer would have been out of his way. Plus Mercer is a mess at 6pm... but the charges do add up.

It would also be the wrong way to be at the Shell on Elliott.

There is also the bofa atm south a block of his work on 3rd and Harrison.

I don't know.. I wish someone would just say where he took the cash out at.. ugh.. that seems so simple!

UGH!!!! Its so frustrating to post when no one reads them. I live within 5 minutes of Pubics, I have lived on QA initially and now Magnolia for 25 years.

I have posted time after time that when you live/work on the west side, NO ONE takes Mercer to I-5. Just ask -- AGAIN!

You make bunny cry.

Stop crying little bunny
Why couldn't he have walked to an atm?
Do people really drive a couple of blocks during rush hour and try to find a space to park??
